Katie Price riding

That horse is disgustingly overweight!! And from the pics I guess not one of her dressage *stars* ;) :D
 
I just thought that the paps must have been desperate to try to follow her out on a hack..and must have been a bit annoying for her friend..!
 
Blimey! And i thought i looked a mess out riding! What a state! Feel sorry for the poor chubby horse being forced to carry Duckface round on it's back.
Just think what she'll look like in 10 years time!
 
The only thing I'll say - at least her friend is wearing one piece of hi viz!
Sorry to sound off but it annoys me when people ride black horses, dressed in black out on hacks, Katie Price or other :mad:
 
It could have been worse, she could have been wearing one of her own range. Dunno what Derby House were thinking, trying to replace Joules with her velour vomit inducing efforts.

My thoughts exactly! I do not understand why people do not wear at least a little, we have had so many threads about that, each to their own I suppose, I personally think we should all wear it, along with cyclists of push bikes and motorbikes

On another note, I don't understand why people say she cannot ride as she clearly can, jealousy and pettiness is all I can think it is.
 
She is just another person trying to enjoy her hobby. I don't understand why people are so quick to shoot her down. I'm not saying i like her or i don't like her - am a happy medium.

In the pic/story, she is only just going for a hack on a sunny morning - just like what we all enjoy with our own horses. Allbeit, katie stylee (lol) but the paparazzi are just unable to say a nice word about her and have to disect and rip apart everything she does, i.e what she is wearing.

Sorry to hijack thread :) but it upset me to read things about her that are 9 times out of 10, completely critical and judgemental (not this post - the article!). If it was one of us, could you imagine how that would feel :( She is just doing her thing, her way.

I would expect that if i had as much money as her, i would want to have lovely dressage horses that can prance about an arena better than i could ride them!

On topic - She is still a rider who's learning, as we all are, as we learn something new from our horses and riding everyday :) Tack looks good, definately agree with some hi viz needed though :)

Sitting pretty on a horse and riding are 2 very different things. Have you seen a video of her? I wouldnt like to get on anything and expect it to have a mouth after shes ridden it!
 
I've never actually seen her ride (just pics) so it's interesting to see all your comments form what you have seen. I don't think I know enough to comment on her riding tbh which is why I wanted others views.

Agree about the hi-viz and tubby horse though. All the horses I've seen her on are black. Wonder if there is a reason for that?

I did not say she was the best rider, I am saying she can clearly do it, I am not sure what video you are referring to exactly but I have seen a few videos and pictures of her riding and she seems ok to me, plenty of worse riders out there.
Every day in a riding school where people are getting lessons the are banging around all over the place pulling the horses mouths, sadly it is part of learning and the horses bless them in these riding schools have to deal with it.
We all want to be better riders, as does she, to me she clearly wants to learn. Yes she is sitting up there wanting to look pretty, good on her wanting to look pretty, I look like a giant bee mooching around the lanes and bridle tracks on my horse. I would not wear her gear just to add, I do prefer a more classic look if money is no issue.
I think she does need some hi viz still. But I do not understand who you or anyone else are to judge her! I personally do not like to judge people, we all start somewhere, we all like to hack out. alone or with a friend.
Geoff Billington is not known for his quiet riding seat and hands either now is he?
We are not all perfect, I do not understand why people give her such a hard time!
 
Well, fair point about the high-viz, I believe everyone should wear it whenever they go out. But I suppose these two may have just been crossing the roads, rather than riding along them.

As for the "chavviest equestrian outfit", hmm, evidently the paps have never caught me on the way to the yard on a Saturday morning: baselball cap or hoody pulled down over eyes, collar turned up to keep out the cold and skanky trackie bottoms covering my jods. That jacket isn't something I'd wear (out on a hack or otherwise), but I can't really see what's wrong with it? Looks like she's just wrapped up against the cold. Jods and boots look ok, and most importantly, she's wearing a hat this time.

Oh, and fat horses - one of the the best ways to deal with that is to, you know, exercise them.
 
I don't really see the need to pick on riding clothes tbh, she's out for a ride on her horse just like any other person. I've been at the yard in less than 'appropriate' clothes before, including skirt and wellies! Or hunting in skinny jeans and pink wellies.....lmao. Not all the time obviously but there you go. My opinions on her aren't really of any importance, neither do I have any on her to be perfectly honest. If it makes enough money....then good on her lol :)
I think what horse people object to is the riding slots at places such as HOY's and Burghley....when there's much better amateur dressage riders out there who would work their arses off to be able to do have that ten minute slot at the big shows. Sadly it seems it's just come down to how much money you can pay to get in there I think rather than raw talent which is why some people are miffed. But again....if you've got the money to be able to do that....why not? I sure would lol. But then that will be when pigs fly so no worries there! Plus means more income for the shows I guess? Works both ways if you look at it from that point.

I have no problem with people learning, however she is always made out to be (and tries to live up to being ) an expert horse woman. That is what I have a problem with, when clearly she isn't?!!? I am not judging her, I am commenting on what I see, and what she is made out to be, that is all. Why you are getting so wound up I am not sure, unless you are a personal friend of hers?!!?

Lol, no I am not, never been asked that one before, that has made me laugh, am neither her friend nor admirer, and I am not wound up at all, feel nicely chilled here at home on my day off after lunch.
I am just saying, same as you are, we do not all agree in life. I am just pointing out that I do not like to judge others, that is all. I am not sure she thinks she is the bees knees regards riding, other people/press say and write what they like including I presume the bit about being an expert horse woman or something. Commenting on what we see is fine, it just seemed a bit unnecessary some of what you said, but hey, no hard feelings from me, if you have them towards me then that's fine :D

Well she is not the best, quietest rider I have seen, she does look a bit unsteady up there on that large horse, I still think give the woman a break. There are lots of people out there with all the gear and not much of an idea after all :D
 
I understand that we all had to learn somewhere but I personally would not be doing dressage at her level, the horse was not given any freedom to move, she had no bend or softness in the elbox or hand. Why spurs I do not know

But this is just MY opinion and I am fully aware I am by no means perfect !!

One of my horses is ridden in a three ring gag, a martingale and a flash .... no she hasn't got a ewe neck. I dare you to get on her in a snaffle and go....

The fact this is Katie Price is totally irrelevant, but it winds me up when people pick on other people's tack. You don't know the horse so how can you pass comment?
 
I don't see anything wrong with what shes wearing, can't see why they are making a big deal out of it, I don't always ride in horsey clothes either.

Although never had her down as a hacking girl, a little Hi-Vis wouldn't go a miss.

Again, the fact of who it is is totally irrelevant. I ride a horse that bucks and I lengthen my stirrups for him as I then I find them easier to sit!

I've always been taught that you ride a horse you may need to 'bail out' on then you shorten your stirrups... not that I have ever done this!

I used to ride missy xc in a dutch gag, martingale and flash (you'd better not look at the coloured in my sig)- she didn't have an ewe neck, infact on the unaff circuit she always did very well in dressage.

Same here, mine bucks and if I ride longer then I can stay with him.
 
i agree 100% with KatB, the reason Kp's riding gets slated as she makes outlandish statements like she will be riding at the 2012 olympics! anyone who says that will have there riding watched very closely, she also has no results to back up her statements, if Carl Hester (for example) says he will ride in 2012 thats fine we all have seen the calibre he rides at and his track record is on show for everyone to see!
KP is clearly a novice rider and that is fine we all have to start somewhere but making such comments (albeit for the press's benefit or otherwise) is leaving your riding open to critiscm.
