Katie Price....

If i was Katie Price I think I would do my best to stop live exports because someone like that really could make a difference and the publicity would be great... But no making a quick buck is more important and promoting Valour into the horse world
 
Well I think it will be very interesting actually to see how she rides etc and I'd go to HOYS to see her!

What with all these arguments going on about talent V opportunity and money I think it would be great to see how far Katie gets on just money alone. I think she is a fairly average rider, not better than most of us with horses. But with all her money to pay for good horses and training it will be intersting to see what she can achieve.
 
IMHO I feel that anything including KP, that raises the profile of horses in anyway and however, is a good thing, who is going to be interested in joe bloggs competing at HOYS? She is a name lets face it!
 
Why do horses need their profile raising?

As regards Joe Bloggs, I would think it would depend on whethr he could ride, rather than just being a celebrity who is famous for being famous. I'd be most awfully interested in watching old Joe if he happens to produce the Supreme Champion under saddle, for example.

I prefer to watch horsemen and women at horse shows, and make up my own mind as to whether to watch trash tv and dull celeb appearances.
 
What I don't really understand is why exactly we're all supposed to admire KP. I couldn't give a fig that she earnt her money by getting her boobs out, I don't think there is anything bad about it, but nor do I think there is anything to admire in it. I also don't think there is anything admirable about the way she is happy to expose her entire private life in the media. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that I look up to.

Likewise, with her horsey pursuits. I think it is fine that she has an interest in dressage and wants to do well. However, if a normal person came on here about how they bought a PSG horse and got placed in a Prelim test, do you think everyone would say "oh jolly well done, thats great!" It doesn't bother me that shes done that, but I don't think its anything admirable or wonderful.

As for her competing at HOYS, well, I just couldn't care less. I certainly wouldn't be interested in watching it, but I guess others will.

i find that laughable,nothing has been handed to her,she is self made she came from nothing.She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth like the whitakers,and born into a horsey family.

Everything she has she has worked damn hard for,and as for not been an amazing rider,no she is not there is no such thing.
But i think she looks better in a test than most eventers,look at the olympics some of them look crap in there tests bouncing around all over the place,and some of the lower legs where just wet yourself funny.
 
Are you serious?! You think Katie Price is a better dressage rider than a top level eventer??
 
i never said she was better but half of them look crap in the dressage ring you taking it out of context.

I think she has quite a good position better than most eventers i have seen in the ring.I had this conversation with one of the girls at the meet who does dressage.
And we both agreed people who do mainly dressage tend to look better in the ring but a majority of eventers,just look sloppy and all over the place in there tests.
 
She probably "looks better" because she is doing Prelim level on a PSG horse!

You simply can't compare KP to an Olympic level eventer. They might "look crap" [though I don't agree with you there], but they are doing dressage on a completely different level - far far more difficult and on horses who are not trained for pure dressage.

Put any top level eventer on a PSG horse and I can guarantee they'd do a better test at Prelim level than KP - and they'd look better doing it too!
 
but then on the same note surely people ''cant'' slag her off just because she has got money and has been invited to do a demo with her instructor.

Its differences of opinions that makes the world go round.

Im a big fan of hers,although i dont like her equestrian range at all.I wish more people were as open honest and down to earth as she is.
Far too many bitchy, two faced people in the world and more so than most in the equine industry.

And it really annoys me when people say she flaunts her disabled son to make her look good.What a load of tosh,she very rarely takes him out in public.And most of the time she gets followed with him to hospital and doctors appointments.
Like when he is admitted to hospital the ammount of papz that camp outside there is unreal and its really rather sick.
