Lameness

I have just read your update Amymay, and I am so sorry to hear about Jack's diagnosis. From your posts and pictures on here it looks as though you have given Jack a lovely life in his time with you, and taken great care of him and his needs so this seems so unfair (although obviously it isn't something any dog would deserve). I hope that you are ok (or as ok as you can be in the circumstances).

Thanks so much SL, and all of you have commented. Our referral appt is tomorrow morning, and whilst we’re not optimistic we hold out hope that the initial diagnosis may be incorrect and it’s something fixable. The suspected cancer is in the elbow, but according to our own vet isn’t presenting as she’d expect to see it - hence the referral.

Poor boy has deteriorated very quickly, but is comfortable for now.

So very sorry. He looks so like both my boys so I quickly developed a soft spot for your lovely boy and your bichon too as my mum has bichon’s

So, a final update on our big guy. The referral vets were able to get better images of his elbow and confirmed that it was bone cancer. The elbow was pretty bad, and the last two days in particular were very hard - with Jack being in a lot of pain. He was also showing signs of a mass in his lungs. So our little man is now fast asleep forever and out of pain. This time a month ago he was fighting on the beach with his best mate ?

He was a grump little so and so, but we really loved him so much.

Thanks again everyone for your support xxx
