What's everyone up to?

Forecast looks.... not great. Not a lot on here, probably hire somewhere to take Darcy to, and will video our test for the HHO online dressage at some point.

Otherwise will be generally faffing about in the field getting organised for the rest of the autumn. Took Kira for a 6 week check up at the vets this morning and they are very pleased with her healing so far (phew!!) but she has to do another 6 weeks in the pen. If it carries on at this rate then we will be ready to start walk exercise at next check. So will get OH to whack some permanent posts in for me to make it easier to keep everyone where they should be for now ;)

Here's a vid of Salty doing weekend wheelies to brighten the thread

I shall be doing an RC polework clinic Saturday, then lunching with old friend after.
Sunday I might pop over to help a wavering chum at Munsted.

MP, great video! Glad Kira doing ok too, good luck with videoing test :)

Good luck to those competing and to everyone enjoy the weekend whatever you are all doing :)

None horsey weekend for me, weekend by the coast, in the rain by the looks of the forecast. As my usual relief rider is in the new pony honeymoon period my mare will have a few days off.

We've got a feed company weigh bridge visiting the yard too, looking forward to hearing what my mare weighs, she's come out of summer well which is good as she drops off easily. Although she is a touch fatter than ideal I am absolutely not complaining! Last time we had the weighbridge she weighed less than the 13.2hh pony in the stable opposite!!

Dolly is going to Kelsall. She was flying in XC schooling so fingers crossed for a good run. So much love for this pony.

Amber remains on field rest. She was turned out and went bananas temporarily but has now settled more or less. Though a friend sent me a photo of one of her shoes lyingin the mud at the end of a looooooong skid mark. Idiotic animal. I have now removed all 4 for winter as her season is over anyway.

And newbie is being vetted round about now. Eeeeeek. So hopefully she will be arriving this weekend.

Good luck and have fun to everyone out and about.

more winter prep for me - I had a very productive weekend last weekend tidying up the yard, sorting out electric fencing, got lights up in my new stables

this week will be power washing everything in sight and probably start painting my old wooden stables

Glad Kira is feeling better MP.
Exciting for those with potential new neddies , fingers crossed for the Vetting AE, and good luck with the trial SJH.

Daughter is competing at Eland on Saturday in the hunter trials, so hoping the weather improves. Then sunday morning may just take Frank to the local inhand show and do the youngstock class, then supposedly fence judging at kelsall in the afternoon.

Joining in for the first time as we are going to a polework clinic for the first time tomorrow and it will be the first time ever for my horse. Hoping it goes well for us! Rest of the weekend will be clearing a shed out to turn into a proper tack room for me.

I'm oing over the watch the open day on Sunday and pat both my horses who are there. Daisy is happily outside now, and may even have upgraded to a big paddock, prospective motherhood seems to suit her, she's positively glowing. Ambers Echo sorry but I've picked Amber as the stable name for my new mare too. It suits her really well and everyone is happy with it, hopefully she'll turn out to be as awesome as her namesake. I wont get to see her work but I'm over for a lesson on Tuesday next week so will probably get to se her ridden then too. I saw her a couple of weeks ago and she's got W/T/C going nicely and she's even been brave an adventured to the outdoor school and around the arena and under the low branches and over the logs without any bother. So it looks like I have another good one :)

Katie and Dolly will be on the XC around 1. We will be walking the course around 10 - so maybe I will spot some of you fence judges. Keep an eye out for me with a slim girl and a black dog.

This morning one horse gently hacked, the other cantered on the hills. Then they had a physio appointment each which means that I get a day off riding tomorrow guilt free - yay! (I haven't not ridden a day in months - in fact I'm struggling to remember the last day this year that I didn't ride) So leaving work early tomorrow, checking the horses still have pulses and then having a night out on the town - breeches strictly prohibited.

So non-horsey weekend for once. I have a fun run this weekend over inflatable obstacles in Bicester with my sister - should be cool!
Even though I do feel like I should be doing some xc schooling while the courses are still open and while the ground is so good. Oops there's that guilt again

I feel like that too at this time of year, there is so much stuff to do.

I've resorted to writing all the comps, lessons and horsy stuff on the calendar, and then trying to prioritize..... Otherwise we could be out 4 times a week lol...

Reilee in BE100 at Kelsall Saturday if event still running by then(!) They are forecast an awful lot of rain so we shall see. Ground great there but just depends how much heavy rain they get in a short time.

Another potter (ha!) around the mountains on super Phoenix Sun morning as long as not going to get wet (again!) - she has been wild out in the field this week, even more full of herself than normal - wearing the other horses out with her antics. Knows she was special last week.

Good luck to everyone out and about, always enjoy the last few weeks on Summertime before nights really start closing in.

Great news about Kira, MP.
I’m out at dressage on Saturday afternoon with Millie. I’ve got a nice dose of tonsillitis though, to add to the fun.
Was planning on going to Kelsall to watch on Sunday but tempted to go tomorrow incase Sunday is cancelled due to the rain that is forecast.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Sadly still off games with the knee but physio is happy that it's recovering well . I have now taken Rose to my trainers so I can stop worrying about her. I stayed to watch her being ridden and she looked great but I am missing riding her so much and am worrying that I've had so much time off riding recently that I'm losing my connection with her but it is as it is! I am spending far too much time on H&HF so please can you find lots of things to interest me and I am looking forward to reading the competion reports from the weekend. Saturday we have a family outing to the Drs for our annual flu vaccs, this includes MIL who is 101 very shortly, OH wants to take the wheelchair, I think she should take the rotorvator(don't ask) but MIL wants to take her walking stick (actually, I wanted that!) I am spending Sunday with my younger daughter at her new house in Cardiff and she is cooking, we are taking wine and as I am not driving I intend to drink quite a lot. Have a lovely weekend and I hope all your plans go to plan, clearly I would never earn my crust as a writer!

Nichts. Nada. Nothing. I never plan anything for the weekend after my disco's service and MOT. There's always a very high chance it won't make it out in time, and even if it does, it'll probably bankrupt me in the process :p

However, this rain has done wonders for the ground so I intend to spend the weekend hooleying around the field and the countryside on Daemon as much as possible. He's feeling very jolly after what feels like weeks of walking on hard ground :D I may try and set up a run and move some bales into the big field to shoot at ahead of next weekend too.

I hope everyone with interesting plans has a good one! As for oldie's non-horsey weekend plans, I found that a very enjoyable read ;)

Good news about Kira. Long may the recovery continue. And fingers crossed for successful vetting and knee injury recoveries. Oldie, I’m sure your bond with Rose will return very quickly.
I’ve just got a lesson planned, new boy has been fab and has his halo firmly wedged on and polished. Long may this continue. I did have an OH free weekend but his plans have been rained off so I’ll have a bored OH to deal with!

Great news about Kira MP <3.
My main plan for this weekend is sulking about the weather :p. Secondary plans involve finishing the work on the 'new' Land Rover ready for his MOT on Monday and maybe a bit of hacking if I can find time!

To add this I miiiiight be going to pick up a dressage saddle 👀.

Eland Lodge hunter trial nation champs on Sat :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

The course looks fairly terrifying for a 70cm

Though I do at least have my secret weapon of my new saddle  traditionalists look away now!

Love the saddle, I have just ordered a new dressage saddle which will be "cocoa" coloured with maroon welting. That's out there for me! Though the purple does have a pleasing look to it... :p

Weekend plans for me is hacking out L the Haflinger and hopefully working on her bicycle aversion a bit. We had an unfortunate encounter with an inconsiderate one yesterday which has set her back a bit. Wish people would take 5 seconds out of their day to slow down and not run up a horses ass... E the TB is coming back into work, she was very angry but surprisingly did very well yesterday. She has the chiro on Saturday so that will be interesting. Overall she feels much better than 6 months ago so I think the long spell has done her the world of good. Unfortunately it also means the saddle search starts for her. Never stops does it?

Hope everyone has a good (dry?) weekend :)
