Starting today through to Sunday night moving 18 horses and all associated rugs, saddles, equipment, jumps, furniture etc etc to lovely new yard (old yard owner wanted to put the livery up from £6,000 to £8,000 per month) so everyone on the move as not one person wanted to stay. Doing sandwiches and food for everyone who is helping and then celebrating Sunday night with a couple of bottles of nectar!!

Another one pending off games here. I had an instructor out to do some in-hand dressage training and she noticed D's got some tight muscle over his lumbar region and struggling to swing through his rib cage a little bit. He has been more quirky than normal recently so had already booked MOT of teeth, saddle, physio and just hoping it's that simple...

As always good luck to all, looking forward to living vicariously (although not too vicariously...) through you all. :)

@AlexHyde now that is a coooool saddle!

This weekend is mine and Chill's first ODE attempt since 2016, and that one didn't go well! I've decided to not think about that though and just think about the amazing run we had cross country last weekend! I'm pretty confident about two out of three phases; the dressage and xc. Just need to get through pesky sj to be able to do the fun bit!! I think I will be bribing her with plenty of treats and just sitting back and kicking round the sj hahaha, at least it's only 70cm!! I understand how it may seem foolish to some that I'd rather go full speed ahead at solid fences than sedate canter at knock down jumps...

This afternoon will be spent scrubbing her and shoving her out in rain sheet, neck and turnout boots after smothering her legs and tail in slippery coat shine to try keep her as clean as possible as I'm working all day tomorrow and I don't want to keep her in just for the sake of keeping mud free...

Love the saddle, I have just ordered a new dressage saddle which will be "cocoa" coloured with maroon welting. That's out there for me! Though the purple does have a pleasing look to it... :p

Haha it's definitely not for everyone :p but I love it and did tone down on adding glitter lol!
What dressage saddle have you gone for, new saddles are always exciting .

@AlexHyde

Good Luck! Eland is always an up to height (and width) course! That's why I haven't braved it yet! Maybe next year.

Have fun

Ah you should definitely give it a go! I'm just being wimpy as Skylla is so inexperienced still, it should be a fab day!

Thank you

Doing our first BD novice. In two minds about it. She can do the work, she's working solid elementary at home, with bits of medium. Just no one ever likes her at competitions. My trainer (ex international rider) and several experienced friends all agree she's going well but we just get hammered when we go out.

She's getting a Loxley by Bliss dressage saddle :) So coming from your side of the globe! It's due in about 3 weeks, so impatient :p
It's her first "grown up" saddle and should last her a good long time due to its adjustability. Skylla is looking awesome XC, have fun this weekend!

Eland Lodge hunter trial nation champs on Sat :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

The course looks fairly terrifying for a 70cm
https://app.crosscountryapp.com/ela...0efBhFX8LkHw4NN5-ZsxiuVieS8wQrvulJ4wo7shRJ7Ug

Though I do at least have my secret weapon of my new saddle  traditionalists look away now!

we shall see you there. Thanks for the link to the course, I will show that to my daughter, shes doing the 70 as well. We went the other weekend, and I ( yes me !!) actually jumped some of those fences, so you will be grand, and I didn't fall off ! Although Pip did jump the first fence massive, but settled after that. The steps down are quite decent, I remember my daughter shouting sit back on that mum its quite steep, by which point I was part way down, and laughed on landing as she was absolutely right... Good luck !

Oh very nice!!! Ah those three weeks will feel like an age! I kept changing my mind on the colour so mine ended up taking an extra week, but it was my own fault lol!

Ah see you there, I shall be the green looking person decked out in purple on a very over-excited, freshly clipped grey horse o_Oo_Oo_O.

Thanks for the tip, my only aim is to try and go clear and not fall off :p.

Blue's just been officially pronounced sound by the vet! After convincing myself that it was some hideous issue that was going to result in retirement and/or enormous bills, it turned out it was just too much roadwork on bare feet. Walloped some shoes on, and now she's bouncing gleefully around the place like a tank on springs.

Unfortunately, bringing her back into work will have to wait until I've had her saddle checked out, but the plan is to introduce her to long reining at the weekend, and see how much we can do on the ground.

Great news.....

I'll never forget my son's elderly loan pony (shod in front but not behind) spending one particular hack walking into every field gateway she passed, and refusing to move back out onto the road.....

Once she got back shoes on the following week, she never ever did this again..... No coincidence :)

Looks like rain has stopped play for the second Sunday in a row. I was going to a fun ride but its much too wet. I think its something like 66% chance of rain and with all the rain we've had it will there is a good chance it will be too deep and wet for my horse.

Rain stopped play for last weekends fun ride too which was quite local to me as well! And the other two I had planned earlier in the year, one my horse wasn't sound and the other time my trailer was being repaired :(

I think God is trying to tell me something. Good luck for all you out and about this weekend. I think its a Harvester and a good film for me in the dry.

Glad to hear Kira is mending, I'm hoping for similar news for Winnie when she sees the vet again!
I am taking Tamba to Cirencester for a ODE. It's the first one they have run there apparently and is likely to be up to height so sticking to 80 again. Our dressage has been better this week although still far from perfect, so as long as it's an improvement I will be happy.
Good luck everyone!

Believe it or not, I am still trying to do this trailer! My fun trip out to a local farm ride has been cancelled due to horrific rain, which is a good things as the trailer isnt usable yet anyway, and if this rain doesnt let up, its never going to be!

This was my view yesterday while I sat in my car in pouring rain wondering if I should just sell up and give up horses 😫😫😫

Got our video done :) Darcy had to do some freestyle canter moves in the warm up - took me completely by surprise by humping off in canter :p first time he's offered to buck at all (other than on the lunge ;) ) and took a moment to put his back down, naughty monkey. Anyway, then he pulled his socks up and had an honest go at the test so that was a worthwhile session. He's not really capable of doing the canter bits properly yet but having something to aim at has made me treat him less like a baby so it's definitely come on a bit and we will try to carry like that now :)

This was my view yesterday while I sat in my car in pouring rain wondering if I should just sell up and give up horses 😫😫😫

I hacked Dae out in the sunshine before this and, despite the wind, it was very pleasant. I psyched myself up to ride and lead the other two as the forecast said I had a couple of hours before the rain set in. It lied

I have never been so wet. It was trickling down the neck of my hoodie, which was so saturated I felt like I was wearing a lead jumper. My horses were curled up against the rain and wind and generally acting like I should be taken into custody by the RSPCA. The tracks, which had been dry on my way out, were actually running streams of water up to about 8" deep.

We plodded through it with me repeating "I regret everything" ad infinitum!

I've withdrawn Dolly from Kelsall. As far as I know it will run but the risk of ending the season with her confidence knocked makes it not worth it. I'd have taken Amber but she has not come sound in time. Viewing a horse instead. Fingers crossed. x

4 fault-itis for us so far this weekend at SHOYs. Fleur and Blue had a pole each yesterday in the novice and fox respectively, then Fleur had another pole this morning.

Heading back to watch Blue in the puissance shortly - please keep you fingers crossed for him 🙈😅🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Not got my photos yet so here’s a pic of Blue practicing with my trainer last week. The top of the wall is sitting just under 1.50m

We had a fabulous day at Eland lodge , was amazed at how the ground held up . However not sure what state it will be in tomorrow. Fair play to the organisers they did a great job, and the fence judges where just awesome . Eleanor and Finn took their time but went clear !! Shes absolutely over the moon with him . He seemed to love the wet conditions, but she was determined to stick to the plan And go steady . He’s just a total dude x3384B9F1-C02E-4079-8F1C-6F9459B3E064.jpeg

Great pic asha, glad you had a good day...

Hope the viewing went well AE?

Well done for recording your test MP... I'm hoping for Thursday morning if my videographer has time....

F and Daisy had their first try at our RC junior league, and did really well, with their team coming second, I think they were the second quickest in the jump off in their team... Daisy tried to spook at the planks, but he rode her really well.....

It was indoors thankfully, but we've only had showers today, though rain coming overnight.

Not sure about XC schooling tomorrow, will decide in the morning...
