I worked in the equine industry, still do; have done for a fair few years now and when I worked for others I never had to work any weekends. Since owning my own yards, I've never asked any of my workers to work weekends; some have offered and that's fine but I would never make anyone work Saturdays or Sundays, especially if they are younger as they will obviously want to spend time with their friends or boyfriends.
Each to their own and if it works for employers and employees then I can't see anything wrong; however in this particular instance, it appears that the groom was NOT happy working weekends. Even though the poster said she didn't work weekends, I really can't see how the groom could work 6 days a week without including a weekend day
. My world has always had 7 days in a week, hence my earlier confusion.
Anyhow, I hope it has all sorted itself out now and both parties are happy with their chosen route.
