Dorey - was bought her in 2003 to replace my baby girl who died of colic. Had her for years before she ended up having to be sold.
She was then sold again, but we all kept in touch and earlier this year she came up for sale.
So I bought her back myself
Unfortunatly she still has my mother's name on her passport (admin error... namely without me to sign it, we couldn't proceed, so she had to sign and become legal owner!) but she is my horse.
She's 11 now, about to pop a sprog and then it's back to where we left off
Aw Blue is so cute! This is my boy an 18yo BWB (Hanno x TB) eventer/showjumper who I plan to hack and do dressage on. Only had him 2 1/2 months but love him to pieces already:
I bought Harley on a whim in 1997, when he was just five. I'd never had a horse on loan even, and it wasn't a great start - I had broken wrist, collar bone and ribs, and flattened on the ground when leading, all in the first six months. This pic would have been in the first few weeks of ownership. We've just celebrated our eighth of a century! - 12.5 years - and I still sometimes can't believe I have a horse!
I love this pic of him, take April 2009, he looks like he knows everything there is to know - in reality, he is spooky and scared of his own shadow.!
Same day, after a few little gallops in the woods!
Then a couple of years ago, we bred from OHs mare, this is her daughter, Ellie! She is of course special to us, she bonded with me before her mother (who was a maiden, and being a witch to her), she ADORES all humans, is completely fearless, is sparky, bossy and a joy to know, but it's different, I choose Harley, if I couldn't have him I actually didn't want any other horse, whereas we had her whether she was nice or nasty, ugly or pretty - does that make sense? I suppose it's a bit like you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family!!
And her this summer, two years old, at a show
This October, going to grass livery for winter, showing her amazing welsh trot!
Newest recruit, Tinner. Only been with us for a month, he is starting to like humans, his personaliity is yet to show much, it was only yesterday that I managed to give him a good scratch all over his neck and back. By coincidence, he was bred by the same person who bred Harley many years ago. I'm really excited about him, as with Harley I bought him on a whim, time will tell how he turns out.
The only foal out of 22 which wanted to look at the humans!
THis was taken about five seconds before he tried to jump the post and rail, crashed the top rail and turned himself out with Harley!
My missy Moo who I've had since she was 6 months old ....She will be 4 in march, She is an ISH by rachelle comet .
Shes been shown successfully inhand, being placed at balmoral and dublin RDS
Hoping to do abit of everything, She completed her first double clear, first time out and first time ridden in an indoor just a few weeks back, So proud of her .
Broken in by myself, Shes been a joy to own and work with , although can be trying on your patience as she just loves to get into things, But is such a great baby and tries her heart out
