Some of you may have seenthe vid of my daughter jumping her new pony recently.
Tuesday evening we were having a practice session over small spreads as a final preparation for her first comp on sunday.
Unfortuneately they both got it wrong big time taking off way to early and pony landed with hind feet on back rail. Stumbled badly on landing almost falling over. Daughter landed way up his neck. These 2 things upset pony who put in a huge leap as he regained his feet sending my daughter flying.
The crack was audible as she hit the deck. Dash to A&E and she has snapped both bones in her arm where they join her wrist and chipped her elbow.
They operated yesterday morning and manage to manipulate one of the bones back in to place as it had only moved a few millimetres. The other which had moved right across her arm wouldn't stay in place so it has had to be wired in.
Daughter has been brilliant about the whole thing despite the pain. Her only real concern is missing the show on sunday.
Hopefully she will be out of hospital friday. Wire has to be removed in 4 weeks time (general anestheic again) followed by 6 weeks in a cast then physio.
She's already talking about how soon she can ride again.
Really upset for her. She had worked so hard to overcome her nerves, get to grips with the pony and prepare for the show.
