Ditto advice about deleting stuff on social media (but make sure you screen-shot or photo it first!).
Re. insurance. When my horse was on working livery at a BHS training yard, it was my responsibility as owner to insure for Loss of Use or Death. NOT the yard who were loaning him; in fact it was made clear that this is purely the owner's responsibility and not the loaner's.
Sadly I think you may have to spend a bit of £££ on legal advice; obviously the owners are upset about this, and that is perfectly understandable. However you need to preserve your own interests right now.
