NOOOO! I have been trying to pluck up the courage to hog her for about 3 years.
The picture doesnt do her justice actually, will get a proper one tomorrow just to reassure you.
She is an absolute lamb to have her mane pulled, and yes it was beautiful, but it used to grow like you wouldn't believe and took forever to pull to an acceptable standard.
FWIW the boys now find her irresistable!

Sorry but that is just cruel.

How is she gonna prevent flies crawling over her face and neck now?

She looked much better before.

Have to say I prefer her with a mane but she does look pretty either way.

ShaznTaz with a mane pulled short anyway it wouldn't be doing that much protecting from flies etc and if she really suffers i am sure OP will put a flymask// rug of or whatever...

Hogs are lovely on the right horse............That just isn't the right type for one IMO.

Now on a cob...............

FYI she is 15.1hh capable of carrying 14st hunting for a day or two a week, and therefore if I so choose to enter cob classes she is eligible for. I think that makes her a cob!

Whatever................How does she do in cob classes by the way??? I would have thought she was more of a Hunter type than Cob.

Like I said she is standing at a funny angle she is pretty much the same as yours, will get a better picture tomorrow, she is very friendly and likes to stand right next to me so I couldnt get a proper picture. (would have tied her up but the TB hooligans have broken my 2 remaining leadropes today!)

She does have a fly rug, which she has had for years but she seems to find it more irritating than the flies, although we don't suffer hugely with them.

Its riding club Novice!! I do county workers with my other horses when the mood takes me, so I do know the etiquette, like I said its a one off to assist a nervous competitor on a trust safe steed, perhaps something many other people would do well to try when you see some of the scared stiff kids at shows around and about.

Ok so if you dont think she is a cob, if I wear a funny hat and long stick to hack out I just say she's a polo pony

Ive just worked out that fyi means for your info i thought it meant something a lot ruder and kept reading on thinking there was going to be a real slanging match lol

(ii) Cobs
The Cob is a type rather than a breed. A short-legged animal exceeding 148cms with a maximum height of
155cms, it has bone and substance with quality and is capable of carrying a substantial weight. The Cob should be
well mannered and ideal for nervous or elderly riders. Cobs should have sensible heads, (sometimes roman
nosed), a full generous eye, shapely neck crested on the top, with a hogged mane and well defined wither. The
Cob should also have clean, strong hocks and all the attributes of a good hunter; low movement and a comfortable
ride.
Cobs must be registered as lightweight (minimum of 8½” bone), heavyweight (minimum of 9” bone) or Maxi Cob
exceeding 155 cms and are defined as follows:
Lightweight Cob – mare or gelding 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms, but not exceeding
155cms, capable of carrying up to 14 stone.

She fits all those criteria, so unless I am truly mistaken ......

Not sure who this is directed to, but I am always VERY curious and try to assist any nervous or novice competitors.

fair enough she fits the criteria, and don't get me wrong she is a lovely horse but i still don't think she'll be up the right end of the line......

just looks more of a hunter type to me

I think it is amusing that some are getting a little worked up over the fact her horse is a cob or not. We have seen two pictures if this horse and neither show its body or legs properly. Surely fatarse knows wether it is lightweight cob or not after all it is hers, she proably sees it everyday.....

well she did say when the mood takes me

AAARRGH she doesn't do showing!!!
Her life in general revolves around eating slepping pooing and hacking, in the winter she eats sleeps poos inside and hunts!
She is taking a newbie to her first show in a long time because her horse is lame.
Wow some very intense people on here tonight
