I’m so sorry to read this YCBM. I don’t go on the forum much these days and so haven’t followed Ludos story but having known you through my years on here, I have no doubt that you did all possible for him. Thinking of you and sending much love xx

I'm sorry things didn't turn out the way you had hoped. We can do everything within our power to help our animals but sometimes it isn't enough.

RIP Ludo

So sorry to read this. I'm sure we all know that you would do the right thing for your boy, however hard and painful to you, that decision is. I believe you are one of the most respected horsewomen on here, I know I always take time to read your comments and advice and I'm sure if any of the nasty low-life trolls that seem to delight in causing more pain showed their heads they would be given short shrift.
Take good care of yourself, it's ok to grieve and Ludo will always have a place in your heart.

So sorry for your loss - they take up such big parts of our lives and hearts and leave a huge hole when they leave. You know you made the right decision for him, but it doesn't make it any easier. Take care of yourself, we are all thinking of you. you are a highly thought of member of HHO. x

We got caught in a doom loop. He needed to be box rested to cure his injuries. Resting caused him to become so weak that he looked like an old brood mare. It was shocking how quickly he fell apart physically. In his last days, his face was a mask of misery. His only future was to injure himself again every time he felt well enough to run about, because he wasn't strong enough to hold his wonky bones together. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I have never loved any creature as much as I did him. Of all the horses I've ever had, why did it have to be him?

So very sorry YCBM. Its always so hard losing the best ones. Take care.

I'm just catching up @ycbm but want to say how sorry I am for you and I know you would have done the right thing. His quality of life with you was there for everyone to see and he is now pain free with all the other HHO Specials up there!
