my new horse is acting crazy!

yeah this is it brighteyes... she ALWAYS has hay in the net so thats why im not worried about getting up at stupid o clock.

im lucky that she isnt messy she poops and pees in one corner! so although i might be lazy to some... i know shes fed watered and dry at any time of the day tbh. and thats all that matters!

this is kinda turning into a witch hunt tbh... Im prob gonna be better off reading some books, theres been some good advice on here...(THANK YOU) and then ya usual trolls whose only delight is to bitch at other people
smile.gif

start with me... and ill finish it
smile.gif
you aint met this bitch yet (wink)

Honeypots excuse me what? LMFAO! you think i want peoples respect who slag me off for no reason? ha ha...no.

there are some very genuine HELPFUL people here! and i am more than greatful for the advise they have given/are giving to me. but im not gonna be spoken too like im some d*ck head!

you want respect from me... i expect the same! Im a novice with a horse.... okay it wasnt the brightest idea ever, but its too late to start critising me about that now! shes here and thats that! so im just after some helpful advice. not to sit here and get pulled to peices by a group of people who dont even know me

Listen mate...

If you really want help then ignore the wind up comments and take on board those that aren't.
This board is an absolute wealth of knowledge especially for someone like you who is a novice. You will learn tons if you are prepared to take it on board.

Erm nope, just gave my opinion, which is just as valid as the next persons---- I am just really struggling to believe anyone with so little knowledge would go out and buy a horse.........

It happens all the time and the best thing we can do for this horse is to help this poster not wind him up...

Honeypots i 110% agree with you! and i dont wanna come across as an ass hole but cmon look at some of the shitty comments on here im getting! this ISNT what this is about...

and plenty people saying should i even own a horse! whats that about! Just because i havent had much experiance doesnt mean i dont know how to care for the horse! it just means i dont know all the little tips and experiance most of you probably have.... thats why im here! Not for a slangin match with a vored house wife hey lexie

I dont think the comments of "you shouldn't have a horse," were helpful, no. However , comments such as :
1) Get out of bed about 3 hours earlier. Be bothered.
2) Get some sheep or w.e as a companion.
3) Listen to the advice given from experianced people

are very helpful.

amymay yup i know i have.... thats why i thanked the people who gave good advice
smile.gif

welshmonsters yup thats what im gonna do, just spend time with her... not try riding her again this week, give her plenty of time to settle in.

It does sound the the women you bought her from has some explaining to do beacuse i personally wouldn't sell a horse to someone that had only walked and trotted it in a field and not even hacked it out but maybe thats just me being over protective?, and selling a TB to someone with little experience i would go back and see her and see what she has to say, but just because your horse licked you i don't see how it means she is the perfect one for you.

well i have taken some of the good advice on board darcylu.

Im gonna remove the bottom rungs of the back gate ( to allot sheep back in) in fact i did that last night after it was suggested i let sheep in the feild with her.

as far as getting out of bed earlier... i STILL dont see the problem with my routine now tbh.. i was out to feed her at 10am.. this isnt a farm, its a house! im sure there are many other people who dont get up at the crack of dawn too. but if its gonna make people happy i will Get up tomrrow at 6am! and feed her!

see i am listening to the good advice.

welshmonsters maybe so. i agree. but i did post before, i cant seem to get into contact with her. daffi was kept on a farm and there was a few other horses so maybe ill take a drive over there and see if i can get contact with her again im sure she hasnt just vanished. However i dont know what that would acheive. she obviously doesnt want further contact with me now shes sold me this horse.

Troll. As in someone who posts in order to wind people up, has an inability to take good advice, creates mini flame wars, uses abusive, inappropriate language. Specifically here I would say the OP is possibly American, as her use of English is not quite authentic and she posts at odd times. All her soruces appear to be online (who buys a horse from the Sun online?) and she has made no attempt to contact local livery yards or instructors for help. I would say quite possibly a 14 year old practising their first attempts at fiction (see below) and if she is really a 29 year old who works from home, well she has big problems if thats the way she writes. I make no apologies for calling the OP a troll, she has had good advice and has resorted to abuse. Note also the empty promises to post evidence, sorry photos, possibly will be followed up by random postings of photos claimed to be authentic. Also, can anyone tell me what milk loaf bread is?

Patches - I was rather horrified when you said the seller could be successfully sued. Of course she couldn't. She has done nothing wrong and its not her fault the buyer is a novice (or doesn't exist), she clearly did not sell in the course of business and has no liability, caveat emptor.

"Okay so i cant ride her just now but maybe i painted a much worse picture than she actually is! i took her a few slices of milk loaf bread... she was resting with her new fleece rug on, shes lovely, so sweet in her big straw bed! but i gently went in and she came str8 over to me so calmly and nice... and i cried! and she knew... and she came close and started licking me and muzzlin me! so for the people who said this horse isnt for me... I think your wrong.
i love her to bit already and even if i cant EVER ride her... it wouldnt really matter anyway, Im going to give her a few more days after all.... she only arrived at my house on sunday and i think myself and some posters on here are forgetting that! she obviously is going to be a little bit all over the place, the poor cow probably doesnt know if shes coming or going. but im gonna stay patient and not try the bit in her mouth or try to mount her again.... just for a few days until she is more used to me. My freind today who sued to ride years ago did say to me try the breathe into her nostrils thing.... i tried it just before, after i cried... it does work! well at least i think it does! she started noddin her head and licking my fingers... and nudging me... in fact she sorta reminds me of my dog! thats the kinda thing my chihuahua does if im upset! daffi is the same! ."

Good good

Besides, it'll save you on bedding , if thats any more of an incentive.

As well as her living a bit more naturally out in the field being able to stretch, rather than being cooped up. Wont make things much easier for you or her if you change routine if she's being penned in all morning. Might help you with your leading issues too as she'll be out more, and wont be excited to get into the field.

Good luck with her . x

Just unusual for a bloke to refer to himself as a bitch that all.....whatever floats your boat.

People tend to get a bit narked when they think
a) its a wind up
b)good advice is being given which is then disregarded
c) a horse is at risk in some way

.....I'm sure you will get there if you take (good) advice and give it time.

Patches has first hand experience of this - and the action was successful.

Going back to the sheep thing I personally think you would be better only putting 2 or 3 sheep in with her, rather then a whole herd.
