My friend (who I call The Cat Finder General!) has sourced a one-year old neutered black male cat who, like the late MCC, has been usurped by the arrival of a puppy who attacks the cat at every opportunity, and is now confined to a bedroom. Current owners are moving, and don't have a spare bedroom for the cat. So, owner is coming to have a look at cat's potential new home (she knows it's a floating one) and will take it from there. Cat has been neutered, jabs up to date, flee'd but not wormed, as they can't get cat to open its mouth (obviously not heard about spot-on ones) and no money required. Please cross paws, claws, hooves, fingers and toes that this works out for both him and me!

All crossed Ratface :)
Poor cat being stuck in one room because owners can't be arsed to control a puppy .
Has the cat ever been outside do you know? that could make a difference depending on what you want to do. xx
No, apparently has always been an inside cat. After a few months in, I'll give him the opportunity to go outside. On one occasion, MCC hopped out of the galley window and was playing pat-a-cake with a very cross male swan's beak! :( I hastily clattered her food dish and she hopped back in. Foolish cat! She ignored moorhens and the mallards completely. Sneered (at a safe distance) at the Indian Runners. She ruled the world, and will never be forgotten. Still crying over her loss and finding white cat hairs in odd places.

Everything crossed here for you! Any idea when we can expect more news?
The cat's owner is going to let me know when she has time next week to come down and see the barge. Let's hope we pass muster! Barge is a 50ft long Humber Keel, 200+ years old and had everything mended, welded, tarred and varnished when I bought her twenty-five years ago. She's now a bit scruffy on the outside, but floating to her marks and very beautiful inside. Lots of safe nooks and crannies for anxious cats to hide in, plus a wood-burning stove pipe to clamber up and hide from strange humans.! Elegant wheelhouse to perch in and sneer at the people, birds and next-door-but-three's dog when it scuttles by. The latter well trained by previous cats giving him hard stares!
If cat ever wants to go out, we have access to wide wooden pontoons up to land, with grass and trees. The Killer Burmese used to swagger around up there, as did King Kevin Kat. The females less so.

Success! My friend who is my cat finder, put another of her friends in touch with me. This friend has just got a Spaniel who is persecuting the cat. Cat is 1 year old, a tabby, not a black one, and a dead ringer for the late King Kevin Kat. She needs to get rid of cat. Had a long conversation with this lady this afternoon. Cat and all accessories and current food (Felix) are arriving on Monday afternoon. Mission Achieved!
