No Olympia Thread?!

I must have been watching something different because I thought the horses looked pretty happy - he seemed to have a really kind manner with them? The only thing I didn't get was when they were lying down, I couldn't work out if they were supposed to be doing it so slowly or if they were finding it hard? It's not really my cup of tea, it's just circus tricks really, but I thought the horses seemed pretty chilled!

It was the panting and sweating that made me feel uncomfortable tbh. Lots of horses work hard in that arena this week but they were the only ones that panted like that.

I find those displays a bit unsettling anyway, the horses often look wary. But look at the French horses doing the display, they trot and canter about for 10 mins and don't break a sweat.

I didn't much enjoy it but I'm getting a bit bored of these type of displays. They never seem that interesting, look awkward and just a bit uncomfortable to watch. Enjoy the dogs and loved watching the jockeys jumping.

Yes. I noticed the panting and sweating too. Really didn't like it.

I have to say I didn't notice the panting - but then I was making dinner at the same time. Could it have been unclipped horses under the lights maybe?

I liked the Azerbaijan display!

Anyone still watching? As a child I was a massive Whittaker fan but they really don't have the charisma to introduce the Christmas parade thingumy 😂

I didn't like Santi last time I saw him (3 times that year), I liked him less this time we were in the 3rd row and I was staggered how hot and heavy breathing the horses were. Particularly the one who struggled with the lie down twice and looked really awkward. They were unclipped but it wasn't that warm and they can't have done masses of warm up before hand. The palo I think was clipped.
They were all uncomfortable with the dogs jumping on them but thankfully by wednesday someone had obviously had a word as we didn't get any horses standing on each other.

The finale was a massive disappointment, we all assumed the video was the preamble, other than santa not a single horse in the ring, not even the shetlands and over very quickly, was left thinking is that it?!

Really enjoyed the last class, exciting jump off. The finale is not the same any more. They used to tell a story, have songs and lots of horses, not really sure they see the point off doing a big production as so many people leave to get home. Shame but this year's was super short.

Very few left weds night TBF (given the situation re. getting trains that late etc) first time I wish I hadn't bothered. We'd barely got started before we were carolling and that's it say goodnight.

I was wrong on the ponies, there was one, and a donkey.

Loved the guys from Azerbaijan! They really got the crowd going. And I loved their little horses, they were fab.

I didn't like the guy with the freisans. I just find all that business a bit demeaning to the horses to be honest.
