Non horsey people - lets have a giggle

My OH sat on my advanced eventer years ago and I led him and the horse round in walk (paying VERY careful attention as horse hated Novice riders), OH is now convinced he could get on a horse and go XC......

My favourite was years ago I was walking to a country pub with a boyfriend. A horse and cart passed us and I said "oh I'd love to have a pony and trap." His reply "Well it's o.k. we'll be at the pub soon"

I can't believe nobody else has highlighted this post!

My OH is convinced that numnahs are num-nums, rugs are pyjamas and I am reading bedtime stories and tucking him in when I go to finish off.

In a similar vein, my OH thinks I wear 'jompers' when I ride! I've had to stop saying numnah - it's just too complicated for him, so I just say saddlecloth now, no matter what the shape so that he gets that I'm talking about the soft thing under the saddle.

Bless him though, he bought H a nice batch of organic apples yesterday and was brave enough to come to the stables and deliver them in person. Extra brave because H met him at the gate and he managed to back him up enough to be able to get the gate open, get in and close it again all without losing any of the lovely munchable apples!
