Olympic Team Predictions

Re Luhmuhlen 5* - Ros absolutely on fire, clear on Issac with 2.0 time pens. She'll lead overnight with second some 8.6pens behind.
Tom McEwen would have been up there with her too had he not had to retire in the middle of that brief hurricane...

Catching up on the XC. Molle summerland belting her horse again for a refusal, I remember her doing that to Charly. If that was OT he'd be crucified.

Maybe I'm being pathetic but I just think it looks bad and is unnecessary, and surely at these big events where more eyes are watching riders should be more careful than ever with how they reflect the sport.

Agree. Kirsty Chabert did the same at (Kentucky I think it was) and really didn't make for good viewing.

Yeah I remember that. You don't see the likes of Tom, Ros, Laura, Yasmin etc doing it. It just seems a pointless outburst of annoyance (of course it must be SO frustrating but, be professional!)

Pretty sure it doesn't teach the horse anything either.
I agree - I think if anything it taught the horse that he will be beaten if he looks at the scary thing (for anyone who didn’t see it, the horse ran out at a fence with blue tarpaulin underneath…Mollie turned him back to the fence, then whacked him twice while he was looking at it).

Going to update my team prediction based on today - I will be very surprised if the three plus reserve do not come from Ros, Tom, Yas, Laura and Kittty.

The only one I'd want to put money on is Ros though. The other spots, god who knows?!

Yeah, she makes it hard to be likeable tbh. Appreciate she’s had lots to deal with but, I always think if they are like that at a comp goodness knows what they do behind closed doors.

I totally agree. I think reserve will be a toss up between Tom and Yas

I think Laura and Ros are a given for team, goodness knows which one of the other three will be dropped. I suspect not Kitty.

Anyone watching able to say what happened in the show jumping?
Ros went for the steady clear, but unfortunately had 2 fences down and then too many time penalties and dropped to fourth. Lara from Belgium won after jumping clear in the time. She was thrilled and cried through the whole prize giving!

I am so excited about the GB selection, I cannot wait for the Olympic eventing, I've never been before and prob. not get the chance again.

I am quietly hoping Yas and Banzai are in.

Wow that was nail biting! Congrats Yas. How awesome are our British riders.

Interesting what Lucinda said about dubs canter/dressage.

I predict Ros, Laura, Yas for team with Kitty as reserve… what an unbelievably hard choice for selectors I’d love to understand how they do it!

Goodness me, who'd be a selector! I'm leaning towards Michen's team, but I'm assuming the selectors need more time to see how London recovers from his over reach.

I wonder if they do it based on a vet check too. Whichever is the most overall sound when things are this tight? Assuming all of them don’t flex perfectly or whatnot.
