“It is free to register your former racehorse with RoR and enjoy access to clinics and camps. Simply click on Register Your Horse and complete the details required. Any former racehorse can be registered whether they have raced or not raced. (If unraced, they must have been in training)

Un-named Horses

To be eligible for RoR competition membership your former-racehorse must have a Weatherbys registered name. This can be done by completing the BHA NC2 Registration of Name of Horse form.

When filling out the form, please write at the top that it is a registration for a Non-Racing name, this will reduce the charge to £54.10. Note; the horses passport must accompany this form.”

He wont have a weatherbys name as he has a french passport not sure if I can get round it 👀

It's only for some of the competitions that they have to have raced, for their clinics and training they don't have to have :)

I‘m sure there would be a way round it, maybe contact ROR and say he’s a registered French bred who was in training but wasn’t named? You should still be able to take part in the clinics etc, it’s just whether you they will let you register him with them as Orbit or not.

You can do all of the RoR Training with an unraced horse. You can do quite a lot of the RoR competitions without racing. The Elite competitions - Highland/Hickstead qualifiers you need to have raced but you can qualifier for the RoR Champs at Aintree without racing in the showing. You can do quite a lot of the dressage and jumping without racing too.

If he was in training in Britain he *should* have been registered with Wetherby's. Does he have markings forms stapled into his passport? If so he has been registered over here. If not then If you want to name him you will have to go through France Galop and speak French - they really do begrudge having to speak English 🙄 you might be able to get him overstamped and named with Wetherby for non-racing purposes.

He wasnt in training in britain only france.

Im not fussed with ROR hes my pet at the end of the day.. I have names… plenty of french names lol
