With all the spring grass coming up I think you need to look out for the fence leaning back on its posts, first sign of fencinitis. Also what are you feeding it? Because I have fences of my own, I can assure you yours is a rig.

Ooooooo get you ! No-ones saying theyve got a perfect fence, its just that it seems that now yours is a bit to much for you , you want to get rid. You made that fence what it is today and its you duty to pay for any re-wiring it needs to make it sane again. You've brought it all on yourself I'm afraid.

Agreed. Or at least get a BFSAI out to give you some proper lessons in how to work it. It needs to learn that it's not acceptabe for its bottom strand to sag - you've obviously not schooled it very well - have you never heard of self carriage

Jftd- wfw is a 'fluffy' reaction. Either call for a skip or have a bonfire yourself.

I just dragged the pole off it and gave the wire a beating til it tensioned better. I'm not ready to write it off yet. Can't afford new fencing so the old one will have to earn its keep a little longer.

some fences are much worse on the spring grass maybe try stabling it and cutting down any high energy feeds, make them a lot more biddable ;) sounds like you may seriously have to consider selling it: i understand he would be unhappy going from pillar to post but i know there are people out there looking for a good project fence (top quality, well behaved fences are too expensive for the current economic climate of course)

Jftd, this is a disgusting attitude, all responsible owners should either have insurance with fence-plan or a disposable income circa £150,000 per annum to cover these eventualities. Next you'll be saying you can't afford a varnisher every 6 weeks.

I can't and I don't. I varnish myself, when I think it's necessary.

Go on, call WFW. I dare you

Jftd I have notified the RSPCF and they said they have noted my complaint (though we all know how they are... doubt anything will be done soon), how about a band of us join together i could pick the fence up and drive the first leg of the journey to take it to a fence welfare centre?

don't worry Ollie's Mum, I know of a good sanctuary that will take on your.fence and loan it out to a 'fence mum'. It just needs to get its fencing licence sorted...

At last someone who understands. (Although how much will this fencing licence cost?)

Companion? - Purleeeeze have you read the thread? It's killed batteries for goodness sake! Would you risk your fence in with it?

Slightly confused, ollys mum can't even look after the fence she's got, what a foolish suggestion. Do-gooders rescuing fences wilynily from b&q does more harm than good.

I went to a dealer to look at a fence, and it was in an awful state. It looked like a twig. So I paid £2,500 for it and rescued it. I love my little rescue fence.

I stand corrected....what about getting a experianced loaner who has worked with all manner of behaviours a fence can throw at you? It might help as if olliemum sore knees stop the fence from being exerised enough.

All you are doing is encouraging the bad fence breeders. You should have jumped on the twig and put it out of it's misery. I bet it never sprouts leaves.

Killing batteries is a very serious o-fence, the only responsible thing to do is PTS, in this case electrocution would seem the kindest thing for all involved.:(

The fence needs to have its grain tested for imbalances, then a Hilton herbs supplement will cure it for sure. If it doesn't, some nails with a lozenge head.

OMG I need your help. The council is trying to close me down, saying I'm a fencing centre. But I rescued all my 100 fences. If I hadn't rescued them they would have gone for sawdust :( All my posts have mums who pay £50 to nail them exclusively. What can I do?

Sorry but you are clearly a fencing centre. Now you just need to dupe someone into helping you find new homes for the 100 fences...

I've heard about you - 100 fences all in your back garden and you coining it in with £50 cheques arriving in every post (and for every post)

Or it could have a short in its main wiring causing it to flip out and attack the batteries.....maybe a full fencing work up needs to be done to rule out any physical reasons for this behaviour.
