Please cross everything for my Jem

I hope she is back to normal tomorrow. Do you think she might have something stuck?
It does seem quite possible knowing her tendency to hoover up almost anything she manages to find out on walks and sometimes when you yell out leave, if she is far enough away, she gives one big gulp and down whatever the ghastly treasure goes ?. She then slithers over to you wagging her tail and literally grinning at you! Yes she truly grins and you can almost see her thinking ,oops my bad!?☺️

So either something foreign has gone down and got stuck. Or perhaps scratched her throat on the way down. She is very quiet now and seems settled for the night and hasn't coughed or attempted to dry heave for the last hour or so which is a good sign hopefully.

Quick positive update and thanks again for good vibes. Much better today, she can now eat a small meal and drink without retching and is dry retching far less than yesterday. Was full of bounce first thing but a little quieter now but I am guessing some of the meds are probably adding to that. Spoke to the vet and he is happy for her to stay home still and monitor her and check back with him in the morning.

She had a very short amble walk with Mr. C first thing and unusually did not try to forage for any nasties in the field and hedgerows. I like to think she has learned a lesson, but we all know that will never happen with a greedy Labrador don't we? ? I will relax and know she is well and truly mended when we have to start watching her like a hawk and screaming at her again to leave unknown disgusting objects of great desire to all self respecting Labs!

A dog I saw in the woods wore a muzzle purely because of his habit of scrounging delightful things on the ground-dunno if you want to do that, I would rather not with mine, but if she's making herself sick, it might be an option.

That’s a relief! Looking forward to hearing she is back in full Lab mode with you in corresponding Hawkeye mode very soon ?

So glad to see things are improving Mrs J.
I have a Flatcoated retriever who is very partial to a certain type of seaweed that is prolific in winter on our local shore. She was fine for three years and then one day became ill, I thought she had bloat, she didn’t! She was in intensive care for days, the vets couldn’t see a blockage. In the end they had to open her up and it was seaweed. It was touch and go by then for her to survive, but she did! She now wears a muzzle on the shore! It’s the only place she needs one and she doesn’t eat seaweed on any of the other beaches!
Dogs! They do put you through it !
