Are they absolutely sure there’s nothing going on with the spleen? Xx
Initial bloods say nothing going on, we are awaiting the results of the repeat bloods.

Have managed to tempt him with a couple of spoonfuls of chappie and some ham which had to practically be hand fed to him (not good for my pregnancy nausea but i will do anything i can for him)

Sounds very much like our two, they're nearly 12 and nearly 15 but they have got over it. Had 2 lots of antibiotic each, anti sickness jabs, buscopan and loperamide (I think). It was a long couple of weeks for us all. Vets just said we had a nasty bug going round and from their Facebook group there are a lot that have had it.

Only other thing they did was send a sample for testing which came back +ve for giardia and campylobacter but the vet did say that could be a red herring.

Keep your chin up, hope he starts to feel better soon ?

Well we have given him the anti nausea top up and pain killer top up this evening.

He has perked up a bit and is interested in food (particularly my bacon butty that he stole)

Just seen this thread. When veterinarians haven't been able to find the cause of the problem when one of my pets has been seriously ill, it has felt like being stuck in limbo between hope and despair.
{{{{{{Vibes}}}}}}, and fingers crossed, hope he gets better.

Just checked on him at 4.30am,
He is very bright, actively demanding food (he knows where it is kept and stands under the cupboard whining) and there doesn’t seem to be any vomit any where.

Im really starting to get my hopes up tbat he may have turned a corner.
Crossing fingers for 4 hour time when we check him again

So he is still bright and happy, has tried to steal from the recycling bin a few times this morning (been stopped each time).

Had a call from the vet about the blood work, other than a bit of dehydration and an ever so slightly raised white blood cell count there is nothing remarkable on his bloods

So going to give antibiotics even though they are only marginally raised as that is the only thing we can find.

So he has had a little bit of a relapse today, very quiet and has retched but not thrown up. Still alert enough to bark at the post man though.

Have talked to vet and she said to just keep an eye on him. He isn’t bad just “Off” currently. he is eating and drinking.
If he gets bad again they will repeat the injections they gave him last time i took him in.

Jezza is doped up to the eyeballs with all sorts of drugs.

We cannot find why he is sick, just that he is very very sick. He did poo this morning but it had blood in it.

The vets are baffled. There is no blockage, there are no ulcers, bloods not showing anything (though more have been taken today).
He has had antibiotics (just incase), anti nausea meds, pain killers, anti inflammatories and something to settle the acid in his tummy.

We have him home as we are managing to keep him hydrated and they can’t do much else.
He is now refusing food (that is a major bad sign for a Beagle) but he is fairly out of it on the pain meds.

Just a matter of keep him hydrated and monitor him. Have got tummy settlers and pain meds (ones that are gentle on his tummy) to give him later.

I really think we might lose him over this. I’ve never seen him so unwell, he is not a young dog, he is 11 now.

Has he been checked for pancreatitis?

So jezza perked up again yesterday afternoon and was fine overnight, but now i have 2 sick dogs.
Jezza was fine until about 1pm today when he wet in the house which he never does, then about an hour later he threw up again.
Now Daisy has just thrown up. I spotted her retching and managed to get her as far as the solid floors rather than the carpets.

Going to have vet bills coming out my ears at this rate

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but maybe not, maybe Roxylola is right about an infection. In either case, I hope your veterinarian can help, and get it fixed quickly.
Get better soon doggies {{{{{{Vibes}}}}}}
