Racing clubs

I’ve got an OG horse with him. I don’t like OGR’s Facebook page though, and the social side of the whole thing is what does it. I’ve met a few people through OG (Shame about the sane initials thing!) who are great, so lean towards OG rather than OGR.
But … he’s pretty smart looking.

The fb group is interesting for definite but I look past that as couldn’t care what people think. I really like how Old Gold do things and their comms. Two of mine running this weekend 🤞🏻

Absolutely, we all like different things. I like talking (had you noticed? 🤣).
I do t like their updates, I really like the OG in depth video ones

Just got my share in Inca De Lafayette as he’s available on Owners Group again - I’d wanted a share in him first time round but missed out!

He’s my second OG horse - I’m assuming I will still get sent a share certificate and photo? Or do you only get those if you order a gift pack?

You get both. I’m in Inca and have been for years. He’s a creative sick note but so lovely and often runs at Taunton where I get to see him.
Who’s your other one? I’ve got quite a few. No real horse any more so shares are my thing.

Perfect, thank you 😊 He’s a lovely looking chap, just wished they stayed that lovely iron grey!

I’ve also got Ile De Jersey with OG, she was due to run last week but NH found the ground too quick for her when he walked the course.

I've not renewed one of my two Old Gold ones - not real reason why, just didn't really grab me. May look at Owners Group in time.

I’ve had a couple of old gold ones but I much prefer owners groups update videos. And the old gold owners fb page is bonkers!

I want a new OG horse but I’m the opposite… I do t want one with Nicky!

I’ve always been a fan of his plus it was Long Run really got me into NH racing, along with Kauto Star. I like his way of training and entering races but I know not everyone is keen on his approach!

I’ve had three winners trained by him this year for both Owners Group (Ile de Jersey x2) and Old Gold (Akimos). Ile de Jersey should be running soon, she has some entries so just waiting to see where they declare her 😁

I also prefer the Owners Group approach to updates compared to Old Gold. It fascinates me some of the comments they get in the Owners Group newsletter, you can tell the people who have experience of horses and those who don’t.

Yes, while I like the Old Gold comms, it's the shift in the FB group and the increasing number of people trying to impersonate Ed and others to get into Owners and Trainers etc. Just made me step back a bit.

I was very pleased to have some videos of "my" retired horses from Owners Group. One of them I was pretty amazed that he is now out eventing, I wondered if he would ever come sound enough to do work as, apart from winning once, every time he appeared on a racecourse he went lame. But there he is, going well.

The second one I loved and would have liked to have given a home after racing if I could have and been 20 years younger! He won on the flat, hurdles and fences but just seemed to fall out of love with racing but I felt the trainer just got fed up with him and I didn't like the stable jockey (armchair expert here!) who managed to wrestle him to the floor on a couple of occasions. He has gone on to be the most cool dude and his new owners just love him to bits and he is the nicest, quietist horse ever and has done well in dressage and they are teaching him show jumping.
Considering that he was clearing steeplechase fences with ease hopefully he will do it well.

The third video was of a horse that the trainer seemed to give up rather quickly. After winning and running well he had two less good runs and was promptly retired. He was a very good looking horse and he has also gone eventing and doing the best of all three of them in competitions.

It is really nice to see them doing well.

Owners Group Mister Ursus looks smart though can’t see how many times he ran in Poland. I like Jaramillo too.

I found his racing record from Poland, it translated into English on my phone. But I don’t think it’s complete as there is no win from Poland (that I can work out!) and he’s listed as having 9 starts on Equineline - I’ve found the 3 French starts and 4 from Poland, so still missing 2!

Polish record

I went to Kirklington stud yesterday to see the mares and foals.
Oh I love foals!
Bummer missed that visit. Whose foal is that as I have shares in 2 broodmares there!

Have some shares in Racing Club horses as well. 😉

Won an owners ticket to Stratford aaaaaand horse was a non-runner. Unsuitable ground.

That’s Wouldubewell’s filly.
Wouldubewell is one I have shares in and that is a very cute filly. We're you allowed to touch them at all. Owners Group always says no but when I went on a visit to Harry Charltons yard he was happy for people to touch quite a few in the colt barn the ones that would bite had "supervisors" !!
