Congratulations Pippity! You can sign up to Sporting Life (free) or log in with your ITV7 credentials if you participate in that and you’ll be able to watch the replay on there 😊
Aha! Thank you!

Very sad that the favourite pulled up with an injury, but pleased with Gamer's performance. He hesitated when he got alongside the leader but responded well to a bit of encouragement and had a nice turn of speed in reserve. He's still very green, so I hope he settles and develops well.

Just bumping this thread as looking to buy a share as a fun gift for my husband for Christmas. Recently, he has really enjoyed following jump racing but he isn't bothered about the betting. Any recommendations? We spend a lot of time up in the Yorkshire Dales so if anyone can recommend a trainer up there (ideally in Middleham) who is part of one of these clubs that would be brilliant!

Rebecca Menzies has a jumps horse through Old Gold Racing that might be suitable? Not sure if it’s too far as my geography is not great!

She also runs a racing club if that would be more to his liking? - Link

Julie Camacho has shares through Owners Group available. Do you want flat or jump though, and little (this one is a one off £37 for the year) or big spend? @Clodagh knows more about trainers than me though.

Old Gold has horses scattered across the country. I really like how it’s set up and their comms tend to be quite good too.

The two ballots I’ve applied for (one a yard visit, the other a race day) I was successful in too if those things matter too.

Thanks so much everyone. He prefers jump racing so that would be ideal. I think initially a smaller spend (up to £100/£150) to see if he likes it/follows it and if he does then maybe the next step up.

Rebecca Menzies's Old Gold horse was one I was looking at so that could be a good shout!

Must collect my winnings. I haven't ever had a bet on the OG horses before, but the horse was running and I was in town, and he won the time before so I thought I would kick myself if I didn't have a bet. So a very cautious each way and he won!

I think my other horse is about to be retired.

At a recent stable visit I talked with someone who had a couple with Old Gold who said it had been great for her, with not just stable visits but other social things too, so maybe I will have another go.

So far, all the horses I have had with OG have won, even if only once and then didn't train on for one reason or another, so considering the difficulty of having a winner, ever, I think that is pretty good going, and hopefully will continue.

Another one in favour of Old Gold. The comms were good, my horse won once, but then had medical issues that led to him having the rest of the season off. I'm thinking of getting another but will pay more attention to location this time. Running the Game was down on the south coast and I'm very much not!

I have three Owners Group horses and am in the Chris Honour Racing Club and David Pipe Racing Club. I went with Chris as he’s a very local trainer to me - about a mile from home. There are two horses in that club. Pipe was recommended to me and I joined at the racecourse open day in September (10% off that weekend), there are six horses. I always get badges with Pipe, and last time at Exeter had full hospitality too (just checked the website, the charge for that started at £99) which was great because I walked into Owners and guess what, @Clodagh was already in there! 🤣

Micky Hammond is in Middleham, my husband has a share in a horse with him. It's a very friendly yard, mixed jumps and flat. I think he has syndicates rather than club horses though. This means there is a monthly cost. Good luck, hope you find a good one 😃
