My first pony (welsh section A) suffers from re-current colic, he has got better over the years but he has a couple of bouts of it each winter. In 2010 he spent a week in Leahurst and had numerous test and ops to establish the cause, unfortunately they couldn't find a cause so we have never really known why he gets it so frequently. However we have learn't to manage it as there seems to be a link with him getting cold or stressed he then colics (he has 6 thick rugs on tonight and is an unclipped fluffy welsh pony) , sometimes mild and other times he collapses. We could never sell him because of it because we worry he would get passed around a lot and people wouldn't know how to manage it. I really hope you solve your boys recurrent colic. Good Luck! Everything crossed for you.
