Unfortunately I went to the urgent care centre in a more urban area who went on the principle if you made your own way in it wasn't bad.
I caught my stirrup going through a narrow gate and jumped off too quickly before horse could panic. I landed hard with my leg straight and heard a crack.
Urgent care diagnosed mild sprain however Dr said if it's not improving in X time you'll have to come back in for MRI. When I did they got annoyed as they couldn't refer me, not my fault Dr had given wrong information. Said they now had to x-ray and did so, confirmed mild sprain and made me an appointment with my GP.
One MRI later torn meniscus, major damage to the ACL and an impact hairline fracture to the tibia which has been missed on the x-ray.
The only time I've done any real damage and done dismounting at a standstill.
Almost exactly what I did. Completely destroyed my ACL. Bruised meniscus, ripped every other ligament in my knee. Broke the tibia (also not noticed on X-ray). Sent home with paracetamol because ‘it’s not swollen, there’s no bruising’ Don’t know why you’re complaining said the nurse practitioner-tbf there wasn’t a mark on me but every time I put my foot on the floor the bottom of my leg went a different way to the top!
Anyhoo I’d like to say I was competing at badminton or doing a black run out skiing.
I fell off the first step of a small step ladder trying to put a bottle of gin on the top shelf of a cupboard.
