Will read his progress with interest. Must be a very hard time for you.
The vet also said to see how he goes its a very common problem in horses.
The vet would like to see him in a year to give a follow up examination unless there is any further deterioration, but with correct work and rehabilitation to build up the week areas in the back he has a good prognosis.
I also asked the vet could the resent work we have been doing harmed Armas he did not think it would have. I am just glad that this has been picked up and treated.
Sorry to see your latest update. ( I posted on your other thread before seeing this one )
You've said a couple of times that you are worried you've missed something the vet has said due to language barrier? Is there anyone that can act as an interpreter for you either in a phone call or an email?
I don't have any experience of injections to the SI, but hopefully armas will make a trouble free recovery.
Kx
.
Jealous perhaps ?
I think it is fair to say that Armas was pointed out as lame from his earlier videos - BEFORE BB started working with him, various posters were told to pipe down.... I know James will get him the best care but I am slightly miffed that it was felt that 'jealousy' or 'cattiness' were to blame for genuine concerns over his soundness from the beginning.
Delicious D - I find it amazing that you have the cheek to say what you have said on this thread about Armas choosing to not listen to people about his lameness. How many times did you post pictures of your mare being ridden when she looked tense, tight, uncomfortable etc etc. Post about her bad behaviour and her bolting hence why you rode in a double, a LOADS of people told you she wasn't right but YOU continued on regardless. Double standards if I ever saw them!
The unlevenless is not pronounced, you are addressing it - why are people being unpleasant?

I doubt it tbh Armas.
Its unfortunate Armas (the horse) is lame, but he has never been sound and a few hilighted this issue. I am glad you are seeking help, but it does seem you only listen to the view of people who coo over your horse....sorry if this sounds bitchy, not intended, just how things are start to come across.
As for SI issues, i would stop the intensive schooling as he hasnt the muscle to hold it atm and work on more correct work.
EXACTLY (worded better then me!)
I have gone through issues with ym mare of late, ii do feel the issues were ignored a little for the glamour of having a trainer train your horse to perform tricks, all of whcih were posted on a daily basis, and god forbid anyone spoke out against it!
Sorry, i really dont mean to be horrible, i am veyr sleep deprived, but i ALWAYS said he was lame, the owner didnt want to see it, and now he does? I dont buy it.
This - totally. Ilovefoals you have put it very well.
I have no axe to grind with either of the posters (Arma and Delicious D), it is clear you both love your horses very much and think the world of them. But there is/was post after post of photos/videos etc about them and all were asking for positive feedback about how amazing their horses are. Many of us have horses and we all adore them (well most!) in their own special way. But we don't post daily posts expecting positive feedback. If you stick stuff on what is a public forum, you need to accept (and acknowledge) the good with the bad. Sorry, I rarely post like this, but it's been brewing for a while.![]()
I suspect because people said the horse was unsound pretty much from Day 1. It was quite obvious to most that he was unsound TBH. The people who did say something to this effect were treated in a very rude manner imo so perhaps they are justified in mentioning it now? I don't think they're being unpleasant, and certainly not in the league to how some of the followers treated them. I didn't get involved in the conversations but it doesn't mean that others like me didn't see what was going on. I think the people mentioning that they always said the horse was unsound are justified.
When I bought Armas he was vetted no reported issues when he arrived in France he was vetted again six months ago he saw a very good vet / osteopath no issues major issues found just a slight adjustment in his back.
On Monday he saw a VET / sacrocranial osteopath who gave him a treatment and told me to let him rest for two days after the treatment he would be fine. I was not happy with this diagnosis thus booked in to the best clinic in France. The problem was only properly identified and confirmed by an ultrasound.
So I am not sure what more I could have done. Delicia you are not a vet nor am I hence I choose to follow the vets advice.
As per my previous post I will be following the rehabilitation plan given to me by the VET. Every horse is different. The vet does not think that I will need to see him for another year unless there is a change in Armas health.
In regard to my training over the last month. I do not consider half pass working long and low trying to get his posterior more in engagement tricks.
Nor is Spanish walk considered a trick to those that understand and appreciate the breed which clearly you do not.
Well I am bowing out, but i wish both Armas and Dee the very best. Both very special, beautiful horses, but I'm out of my depth. My only problem is that my pony likes to carry sticks in his gob. x
