Being able to go to a beach looking like that, and let your dogs have some off leash time, seems close to paradise in my eyes.

Love the small black dots chasing each other. And the small dogs running so fast their ears is flapping as if they're birds trying to take off.

No wonder they're sleeping so contentedly. Hope you're enjoying it as much as they are.

My last day.... I can’t believe how the time has absolutely flown by! Another wonderful day, the dogs were quite tired on their walk - except for the wind-up clockwork puppy of course, who was beetling around as usual ? I’ve started putting a few things in the car this afternoon, and the dogs were determined I didn’t forget them....

Aww, the we like it here, but you're not leaving us here - reaction.

And what a difference to the first day, when you posted photos of scenic forest, saying "I swear my dogs are out there, somewhere". Then today, there is several photos where we can see them out in the forest. Who knew being in paradise would be so tiring for dogs!

Perfection! Did you take the sofa covers yourself or are they supplied?

The brown covers are supplied, the regular loose covers also come off and are washable so as the owners say - don’t worry, we can wash it all ? As I knew my dogs would be all over the furniture I took 2 dog duvets for the sofa and a chair, and a set of bed linen to go over their set of bed linen on the bed - I thought it was only fair!

The brown covers were fab, I’d assumed they were bespoke but they had a manufacturers name on them so I assume they’d bought them ?

Im interested in how much dog paraphernalia you had to pack Lev! Im only going for 3 days with one dog and the list of her stuff is longer than my stuff:eek:

Lol there was a lot of dog stuff!!! Muzzles and coats are in the car anyway.... leads.... dog bowls.... 7kg of kibble food.... 6 days of raw food..... lots of poo bags (I went a bit mad there, I brought hundreds of unused ones back home with me ?), dog towels.... a couple of dog duvets.... I forgot a first aid kit but one would have been really good.... anti bacterial wipes..... I need a bigger car!!!!

Glad you had such a good time and, as we say in Scotland, “haste ye back”.

They have a cancellation in November and I am so tempted.....????

I must be honest, a psychiatrist would have a field day with me as usual! I actually had tears in my eyes at the thought of leaving last night, I love it so much up there. Which I could understand if I’d had a glass of wine, but I was absolutely 100% stone cold sober!!! ?

Scotland makes me feel like nowhere on earth, relaxed and happy and free and de-stressed ? Which is very weird as I am English through and through and have no Scottish connections whatsoever.... but I would move there like a shot!

I suppose this morning’s pictures say it all for me - peaceful, relaxed, hassle free, quiet, no pressure, beautiful.....

Oh I want to so much and I would! I can’t leave my mum behind in Oxfordshire though... so I’m now working on persuading her to leave the bungalow she has lived in for 45 years to move to Scotland ?

I don’t think she will want to in all honesty so it will probably have to wait - it was telling how much me being unavailable for 6 days made a difference ? - but there is always time for those things that matter I suppose ?

When you move up here can I meet your dogs, especially George and Colin, pretty please?

I shall introduce you specially to George.... who took advantage of me talking to the lodge owners today to break into one of my bags and eat all the remaining cocktail sausages that had been bought as a ‘come back on the beach’ incentive...... Because he bolted them down in double quick time he was then sick.... twice..... fortunately on the quiet lanes where it was easy to pull over and clean up..... ????

I love terriers, I really do ?????

Lovely to hear how much you liked Dumfries and Galloway. Finnish Lapphund’s pictures may be typical of the Highlands but here it rarely snows and the winters are mostly mild, the occasional bit of frost, never enough to get into the ground . It is often wet and on the coast it gets windy.
Levrier, I have one of the covers on my sofa in grey, easily bought on Amazon or elsewhere, they fit chairs , recliners or different size sofa’s and they are not expensive. Wash and dry very quickly, can’t recommend enough for doggy people.

I’m guilty of heading North for my holidays almost without exception. I did visit Gatehouse of Fleet many years ago and enjoyed it, so maybe I need to head south west for a change sometime ?
If you do decide to move up Lev, the rule of thumb is that the west is milder and wetter, the east colder but drier, and that is definitely my experience. As much as I adore the NW highlands, the almost constant rain is a bit off putting. Despite the SE rarely getting snow, here on the East coast we get snow every year.

Unless you want somewhere in Edinburgh or North Berwick ? (just off the top of my head).

I have to say Edinburgh is the only city I would consider living in, it is wonderful - I generally hate cities! But I’d probably opt for Dumfries and Galloway if I did move up ?

I’m back to work today and I’m feeling absolutely miserable, so I shall do some online house hunting at lunchtime to cheer myself up ?
