Rooni has been a good pig eye pony recently :)

I’ve added in a bit more power at home, his confidence still isn’t 100% at shows but I can’t wait till we can get this in the ring!

He’s so prettyyyyyy...

Good lad at his comp on Saturday. Just pipped to the post for 2nd overall out of 6 in E45 for 69.48%, went a bit green on me and our rein back was amusingly horrendous lol. Much softer for E57 but with it being our hardest Ele yet there’s a few areas that went green. Didn’t look like a broken camel in the rain back though! 1st overall out of a lonely 2 with 69.1%.

We have been working hard on these! He stands square then goes rogue with the left hind!!!

And today we did this...

Oh sheep you look lovely together.
Arena eventing was a success in as far as we jumped everything first time a couple of wiggles and hesitations but nothing of concern. We were very steady though - 18 time faults and that was with a few shortcuts cos I knew we were way off the pace.
However, he was balanced, honest and an all round super dude - next week is an arena one day at the same venue. I'm hopeful for that as hes not the fastest but does a nice test ?
No pro pics, the photographer's laptop broke mid class so just these from my owner

It's the biggest thing we've asked him to do so far only an 80, but left me feeling very positive

Went out jumping today! I've only jumped once since the middle of March and we barely did anything so I was a bit nervous. Especially as our last few showjumping outings ended in tears! Only jumped the 75 as it was pre entry only so didn't want to count my chickens before the eggs had hatched by entering a bigger class as well. Long story short she was fab and we won! With a jump off time of 21 and a bit seconds. I was really pleasantly surprised as all I wanted was to get past the first fence as that would be an improvement on our previous time out... But after three jumps I took my hand off her neckstrap and just put my leg on and went for it!

Only thing was a lady said I shouldn't have been doing a stressless 75 if I was getting round in 21 seconds and I'm sure she didn't mean for it to sound the way it did but it made me worry that other people thought I may be pot hunting which if you knew Chilli and I's show jumping record you'd know isn't the case!!

Pics and vid of timed section attached below...

Been fairly quiet here due to the heat - has been 30+ every day since Thursday. So mainly just quiet hacking, plus the ground is like concrete.
The cob did however go out to dressage on Saturday. Her second ever attempt at Novice, and she really tried hard. Came away with 68%, despite breaking in the second canter to have a poo! Plus some lovely comments from the judge

I am really loving competing under covid guidelines - space in the lorry park, space in the warm up. Results published quickly, my test sheet emailed to me before I got home, and the rosette is in the post. All very stress free.

The broken one continues with his rehab. Did some long lining on Thursday and he offered a trot, which looked absolutely fab. Tried the same yesterday and unfortunately he was lame. Am hoping he's been a tit in the field and tweeked something, as had improved today - after I got him out of bed

Looks like there have been lots.of people out and about having fun.

Don't let one comment bother you, I think whoever wins and competition, ends up with some random commenting about pot hunting unfortunately.

*Edit* - wrote on my phone which is never a good idea!

We went to a Local show cross On Saturday and had a lovely time ❤️ No placings and a few mishaps, but it didn’t matter - I only ever go for a nice photo and managed to get three where we both look passable!

Didn't get to ride yesterday at all as hay delivery made my arms feel like my knuckles were dragging in the ground. My hands we sore to and with the heat I did't think B1 would of thanked me for it either.

So my few days off have not been spent as intended. Hay hoe - back to the office I go :(

So I'm slightly over myself now...

Two out of three ain’t bad right ?, and at least we’re consistent ??‍♀️...

Dressage, overly excitable for an improved 36.5.
Showjumping, super duper clear in the time ???.

(I love my friends commentary!)

XC, lesson learnt, check your tack before you get on, I had been completely blaming myself (still my fault but if a different way), for riding like a passenger to the first and my sass-pants horse tipping me off at it, after having a last minute change of mind. Actually my bit was on back to front, and was the real reason why Skylla was just running through the reins completely ignoring me!

Incredibly stupid, think I managed to say “for f***s sake” before I touched the floor, not least because I really should have stuck the stop!

Was feeling very much we're not cut out to be eventers, but I think we'll give it another go, mum's pep talk tickled me "stop wallowing, man up and do better next time" ??. I know if I let her (from riding or tack fails) run at a fence she will poop her pants at it when she gets there as she hasn't registered it properly, so hopefully next time we might get all three phases right...

Picture to show how well she was flying, despite me having no control at all lol...

Oh no!! Hope you are ok. But yes 2 out of 3 is a good place to start!! Where next? You can't give up now - the XC is the best bit!!

Haha I'm fine just pride dented! Really, really cross as the course was super inviting and should have suited her...

It's just the XC we can't seem to nail at an actual event! We've got a Tuffy clinic in two weeks then Llany at the end of the month, so fingers crossed!

Was properly woe is me, why am I doing this :p, but taking mum's advice I'm 'manning up', so will enter Stafford then Kelsall!

Toby is lame so not looking likely for me. I'd have loved to go.

No problem, hope Toby is sound again soon :) roped non horsey sister in to come with me, sometimes I think it would be good if she liked them too but more often I prefer that it's my own thing! (Twin so it's more important to me to have something to myself ?)

Oh no HP! At least you know there was a reason for the issue (frustrating as it was!!) and she was jumping brilliantly. I'm sure it will all come together next time :D
