How totally heartbreaking for you. I'm so sorry. Sounds like you've had one hellova time.

I would leave it now tbh. Grieve and move on. There are plenty of horses out there.

Please just learn from this. :)

Possession of the passport does not indicate ownership, the passport should travel with the horse even if it goes out on loan

Doesnt always work that way tho.I have my own horse and I also have a pony who is on loan to me (until payed for) owner REFUSES to give me the passport.

Try and cheer up.Remember next time GET PAPERWORK.

Really awful, you hear so many horror stories like this, this is what puts me off sharing and loaning! I would speak to CAB and see if you can take them to a small claims court for costs, there was no agreement on either side and that may work in your favour or it may not. Do you know where the pony has gone? If you do i suspect if they didn't bother with him before they won't again so you could be stood by ready and waiting to get involved at a later date when they want him off their hands again and then offer them money and get a proper sale.
