But did it have a crystal trim..????????????? 🤣😂
....who goes to hoys for the day and impulsively buys a new lorry just because they are displaying them?!
Hope it’s not one of those furry ones that are real dog furHa... I did get a nice red bobble hat with Pom Pom for £8 😂😂
To be fair, I had been to look at Equitrec and Alexanders at their premises for a new box as my hip was making driving a big manual box difficult and I wanted a small one. I had shelved the idea of a small box as I didn't like the quality of the boxes I had seen.
Went to Osberton, saw a Bloomfields and loved it. It was another year before I got the wherewithal to actually buy one, but if I had not seen one there then I would not have. It was certainly over the price that I had intended to pay, but the difference in quality was out of this world, and had I not seen them exhibiting I would never have seen them. With the price being above my budget, I simply would not have got in the car and visited the factory. Once seen we juggled finances to make it happen.
Come on guys........as long as you are under 15 years of age, the size of a whippet and love your designer riding gear and tack to have more bling than a Swarovski factory, you’ll be fine at HOYS....😜
We have a trade stand for my husband's business so from the point of view of a trader:
Cost of a pitch goes up every year, HOYS has always been VERY expensive, you have to take a huge amount to cover your costs. We have never been able to justify it.
Less people are buying at shows, partly due to online, partly due to less disposable income and partly due to the cost of entry and food being most of their budget.
Those organising shows have no interest in how much traders take they are just interested in filling the pitches so they often don't organise/market shows to encourage people to shop (last time I went to HOYS as a punter I had very little time in the tradestands as I didn't want to miss the actual competition).
We have seen costs of attending rise over the years while our take goes down it is simply no longer profitable to do the big horse shows so we don't. We still do some other shows but not many, we prefer selling opportunities where the organiser has a stake in our success so we are tending to use outlets that charge a % commission on sales with no fee unless they sell. Lower risk for us and normally a better outcome as the owner tends to work harder to get sales for us.
Either shows are going to have much less shopping in future or show organisers will have to have a rethink. But also as a customer please do your bit and buy from the traders while you are there rather than browsing at a show and buying online later.

So they want horsebox companies... that is the last thing I would be looking at buying if I attended something like that, I dont even usually look at those things if they are there. Would love to know the sales/ follow ups those companies get vs the smaller, more interesting tack stands
But nothing is more irritating when you’ve worked a long & hard day for someone to ask for a discount for 8 studs, yes a real story, or to tell you they can buy it £2 cheaper online. Ok, go on then but use us or lose us!
People bemoaning the lack of tradestands really need to examine their shopping habits. I'm guilty myself (often due to indecision or lack of time but still) we need to buy from the stands or they will go.
12.5k?!! Crikey
Did anyone see the stand that was all in white near the entrance to the shopping part at hoys? I’m pretty sure it was near there. We decided to give it a wide berth as it looked totally out of our league 😂 interested hear the prices, I think it was clothing?
Maybe perhaps support smaller shows? I went to a lovely regional show last summer and it was brilliant.
People have said similar about YHL in recent years though to haven't they?
