Thanks again. I’ve just got a sample of flexiride and quite like it. Has anyone used Martin Collins? @catembi, thank you, I’ll have a good thorough read!!
What happened?
This! Bane of my life 🙄🙄🙄Avoid having trees around the edge of the arena, my horses hate them they really spook at them especially in the wind.
Surprised at people saying avoid things for spooking reasons. Surely good to have lots going on at home so everywhere else is not super scary?
Oh god this is all so familiar! Ours is an evergreen hedge about 3m tall with trees behind it, so and a green lane between them so there are often walkers/horses/scrambler bikes going up which you can't really see but obviously can hear.Mine don't spook at shows either they only do it at home weird but true, I find this time of year worse as the leaves that are left on the trees are now old and crispy, so when the wind blows they make more noise which they hate, and some idiot thought conker trees were a good idea had those come down on my head and on horse.
We also have a track one side of ours which leads to other fields and is car access to the gravel sites, so cars horses people and bikes will just appear as you are coming up the long side, one truck for some reason has a huge flappy orange flag on the front that is great fun as well.

Behind the hedge on the other long side there are turnout paddocks so often horses wandering past again unseen but you can hear them!
And it's pheasant season so they are usually sitting on the top of the hedge and then flapping off, honking away.
Aaarghhhhhh! NO show is this scary!
