we have owned him for 3 years now, to get him up to weight took 6 months but it was keeping it on that was difficult as if he got cold he would drop weight or if he got stressed and a lot of the normal conditioning feeds sent him a bit loopy. He basically needs lots of grass and ad lib haylege otherwise he drops off plus he was still growing when we bought him outwards and upwards lol.

I've always found baileys No. 4 conditioning cubes (only need a few) used to keep weight on easily over winter mixed with feed.:)

Heres My Pics :)
This is Jack who i rescued 4years ago from beeston auctions
Sadly i havent got any pics of when i first got him so the first one is after a month
we have come through alot from finding out hes actually 24 years old and that hes never going to be able to be ridden due to the neglect and abuse he had previously.

not really a project in terms of condition - but more in terms of trust and schooling = when i got her she was bucking due to badly fitting saddles and wouldn't move at all from the shoulder - she was also 10 and had only be hunted so galloped in straight lines = she'd had a new owner every year = i got her cheap from a private owner and no i didn't have her vetted ;)

advert pic - but the horse i went to see was not this fit!- she'd been on the market for a good few months and was not being ridden
advert.jpg

after a month of negotiation - i got her - fat and upside down
DSC00294.jpg

after 1st winter with me - thinner but no muscle still - and appauling riding from me
