Snow

You obviously don't live in W.Yorks! I don’t think the forecast snow for this week will be too bad as it's coming from the west but snow from the east can be dreadful. It's not long since we were snowed in for 3 weeks.
If we do get disruptive snow on Tuesday, it will be most upsetting as we have plans for a family birthday celebration, which includes travel.

Hope your celebration goes well.
Doubt if it will stick. The ground is still warm this time of year. Will probably go to slush. 🤞

The snow that does make it's way to the UK is usually pretty minor. It's the wet, heavy snow that's a royal PITA and/or the freezing rain
Exactly this!
People in other countries tend to think we are a bit pathetic about dealing with our little bit of snow but what we have is a half way house, where we have cold-ish but not cold enough to drive vehicles on top of the snow & just embrace it.

I have a friend who lived in Russia. They have a word for the short time in November when their snow is soft and combined with mud. There is huge disruption & they all hate it. In UK we live in that all winter.

Edited - it's called "rasputitsa" & means "the season of bad roads" .

Pretty sure we’ll be getting some but it will probably be pathetic / a few inches at most.

I will be annoyed if we DO get proper snow as broken pony means no sledging fun (unless I can round a few more dogs up to create a sled team?)

Morley will still grind to a ridiculous halt despite the rest of the County managing to carry on as normal! Hopefully there won’t be a repeat of my epic 2 (was it 3?!) hour journey of a few years ago where every road I tried to go down had a blooming lorry stuck sideways in it!

Glad I took the offer in Sainsburys 5 cans of Heinz soup for £5.00. ;) Then again I doubt it will hit us particularly, the last time we had proper snow was the Beast from the East!!

Snow forecast in some areas next week. Weather forecasts seem to be getting less reliable these days. We do not often get much snow in midlands luckily. Its such a pain when you have animals to look after and have to get to work. Hope its not much!
We moved to a yard at the top of a hill in March, and I have been told that in the snow, people just abandon their cars on that hill so i am praying that it isn't much at all!

My memory says 2009/10 🤔. Went on forever...
It was definitely 2010. I was at a one day conference in Oxford. I was one of those stuck on the M25 at Junction 8. It took me 10 hours to get home and I discovered I could pee in a paper cup - twice. We were told light covering, so business as usual. I was lucky enough to have raided the conference buffet and taken a coffee with me (hence the cup!). My OH tried to come out and 'rescue' me. I went mental at him and told him to go home. My best driving was done that evening (down sheer ice on a hill that hadn't been gritted), but sheesh, I never want to repeat it - EVER.

We have a whole 2cms due overnight.🙄

And as my train is the first one on my line in the morning it will have delays I'm sure. The country will grind to a halt.

We already have delays every morning due to the wet leaves on the line.

We were forecast for a wee bit of snow, but it might just turn out to be rain. Unknown as yet as temps will be 0 degrees.
🤞 for sunshine is all i say! 😁
