It's been about 3 weeks for me... I'm going insane!
Don't have any sort of school, and to get anywhere we have to hack along icy country lanes. Not happening.
I hate snow. And ice. And winter.
The one good thing is that, unlike some of my previous horses, he won't be like a coiled spring when I get back on. He will enjoy going out again, but he is never silly about it, no matter how long you leave him.
Still wish the stoopid snow would bog off though! I want to riidddeeee!!!!!

Since before new year

It's doing my nut in but nothing can be done so just have to go with the flow.

Last rode mine in November - then it was raining all the time, then ice, now snow - decided she can have a proper holiday this year and I'm having a break from struggling to ride in the cold and dark. She has grown a huge beard, long mane - I think she has gone feral!

Indoor school, so last night for me.

I did move back to this yard before Christmas as the yard I was at, the school was either flooded or frozen from the beginning of November.

I only left the yard I'm at now as it was too expensive but I'd rather pay more and be able to ride than have her stuck in week after week, which was the case at the previous yard.

managed 3 days between xmas and new year and odd day before xmas when school wasnt frozen etc etc so i reckon bout 5 times in nearly 4 weeks. really pants. have couple of events comimg up which no doubt i'll have to cancel- if they are already not cancelled as he wont be fit or done much. realy rubbish. looking at the news/weather etc today may as well write of Jan and start again in Feb

I haven't riddne since the end of November. We have had floods, frozen arena and now snow!!!! And I had the digger booked in in early Dec to sort out school drainage but have had to cancel it because of stupid weatehr!!

Monday night but I free schooled last night (had a buck and rear) but looks like thats going to be it for a while as the snow in the school is deep and is going to take a while to melt.

I rode my sane pony brieftly in the snow today. She was last ridden last Thurs.
My gelding hasn't been ridden for over 3 weeks as I've been injured and he has had a cough.
My big mare hasn't been ridden for over 3 weeks either because I've been injured and now the weather.

Today! I rode in the snow

Schooled my Welsh D for half an hour, even cantering and then took my 24yo hunter/cob for a gallop round the fields

Before today it was Sunday, we've been very lucky here!

Proof of today.....

New years day, although i wouldn't have called it riding, more hanging on whilst my usually saintly steady cob tried to bronk me off constantly and deposit me. Goodness knows when i'll get to ride them all again. The school/ fields and tracks are all frozen solid with a couple of inches of snow on top, it's starting to get a bit tedious this weather is.

I last rode on New Year's Eve. That was the only time I've ridden in about three, four weeks.

I'm meant to be getting Scooby fit, that's not going to happen with him mooching around the field for weeks on end! Oh, to have an indoor school...

about 15 yrs (lol)....... have just got back in the saddle. It is a bit odd coming back to it as an adult and a tad frustrating as you learn in different ways as a child and tend to overthink things as an adult. Still was cantering back on my first lesson just need to master sitting trot again! I`m not as flexible as I was when I was 14 and need to loosen up a bit again.

About an hour. Took Juno down to the woods for a bimble. First time I've actually ridden her with a saddle on!

Very pretty, and as it is only in single minus figures today nice and warm too.

Ages!! Ventured out for about 20 minutes on New Years Eve but apart from that is was before Christmas. I'm going stir crazy, horses are bored and they are losing fitness - they're meant to be point-to-pointing in the not to distant future!

I rode Saturday, but we only had one session of snow and that was this morning, we've just been having ice since last week on and off
