Hopefully no spills, the girl I'm going with has fallen off when I'm riding with her or in the immediate vicinity 3 times? I dont know why she invited me of all people ?

?? her horse is too tall, I couldn't possibly have reached! I just have bad vibes????

If Sadie does her destructo-pony act here I will be VERY cross because it is very local and looks very nice and I want to make an okay impression with my fluffy little bear compared to the fancy warmbloods the proprietor favours ?

If she feels like she wants to I will let her have a little pop but I won't be fussed if we don't. NO PRESSURE.
 
Trip Report: I have the best pony in the whole world ? followed me onto the box like a lamb, let me tack her up in the car park and did everything I asked her to do. Had a wee canter up a hill and everything. I couldn't be happier ?

Too wet for helmet cam but friend took some videos I will upload when I am dry again, which might be never.
 
Have to agree with the fluffy pony theory. I have one and she is regularly (for last 2 years) been ridden by my friend who has spent most of her riding life on race horses. She loves the fluffy pony and accompanies her daughter out on her ex racer.

Oh I wouldn’t swap her for anything. Even when she is hangry and being horrible to me and hitting me with her head when she thinks I have forgotten to reward her for something I would still take a bullet for her.

I thought it was tomorrow but its not, today is her first little anniversary ? nobody tell her I got the date wrong!! She is going to get a double handful of her favourite, artisinal, handmade treats, but to be fair she also got quite a few today anyway when she loaded so well.

Just entered us into an Intro dressage test on Sunday in the local league.

Black hat silk, stock shirt, stock and white saddle pad in the post, will have to beg borrow or steal if they don't come in time. Bridle and saddle currently two different colours and she's never had a noseband on so to say I am underprepared is probably an understatement.

At least I'm not actually worried about the test. If she gives me a little trot and stays inside the boards I will be delighted. Somebody has to come last!

ETA: I do actually have a white collared shirt and a bright orange tie from when I first intended to take her out in hand over the summer. Is an orange tie for dressage worse than no tie? :D
 
Dressage accessories definitely not arriving in time now. I can maybe borrow a brown bridle if it fits, I may be able to scrounge a white saddle pad from the sanctuary donation pile (very handy, got myself a 3-point breastplate last week), I will just wear the collared shirt and the orange tie with CONFIDENCE so the only must is a black hat silk and surely someone on the yard will have one ?

With excellent timing Sadie has gone full Bear Mode too.

Good news: vague test run through on Tuesday was delightful and if she does half as well on Sunday I will bake her a cake.

Cliff notes: bucked off in the warmup, stood on me, test interrupted by loose horse, came second.

WHAT A DAY! ?

Some explanation: the combination of new venue and a very busy and rather chaotic warmup area was just too much and anxiety manifested in a very big buck almost as soon as Auntie A Ground Crew stepped away and I came out the side door. Absolutely 100% my stupid fault and she was a SAINT to only half step on me a bit. I was fine and bounced right back up and remounted and she was calmer for having that out of her system!

Test was BEAUTIFUL, just lost focus a little bit when free walk didn't mean she was finished and coming to the last little trot when my friends mare gallops past having bucked off HER person immediately before entering the boards. She does 4-5 full laps of the massive outdoor like shes doing the Indy 500, almost jumps the judges car, and Sadie just... stands? Not even particularly interested? Just looking? Our judge comes over and puts a hand on her just in case and makes sure I know my pony is amazing for staying so calm and my idiot ass, still in Robot Mode from the fall, says something like "oh she doesn't like that mare, they're not friends so she won't care what she does" ?

Idiot mare is caught, we restarted our test going better than before honestly, finish, go out the wrong gate and I get back to the box and almost drop my new saddle because I've run out of braincells for the day and forgot how to untack a horse. This judge does NOT take marks off at Intro for having a complete conversation with your horse, talking literally every single second, so we come 2nd with 65.43%

I love her so much I am BURSTING with it, even if I'm also bursting blood from internal bleeding because she stood on my pelvis.

Well done, I reckon the orange tie is smart
Can you tighten your breastplate strap onto your girth, it’s loose enough to get a foot in and I’ve seen the ghastly results of that
