As others have said, we ALL know people who have some disability, many of us know dyslexics who manage to perform perfectly well within society by making use of the computer tools available to everyone.

Just found the post further down, I had only read the one that was written in response. To tell you the truth, they have brought up a valid point, even if the person is dyslexic it is nice for things to be legible. Not so nice to take the piss, but I think that they have taken it as laziness and not bothering to check things rather than 'dyslexia'.

Just my opinion - it is not hard to spell check things, and if you are dyslexic in order to do ANYTHING really you have to get it checked, would have thought it was ingrained.

There is such thing as a spell checker and if someone is that worried then I suggest they use one.

I have several dyslexic friends and none of them make the grammatical errors we were posting about...... that to me is just plain bad English.... and what I expect to see as a result of the text culture of this countries younger generation!!!!

i could see from reading the thread that this person had spelling difficulty and i dont know them, not everyone places such importance on spelling as they dont get ripped into like this instance, yes ripped into, because that is what happened here
i am sure this person did not realise what a response they would get from not using these tools you all mention to help such things as spelling
i did not find the posts odd either from what i have seen, it looks to me like they are young and searching for some horses they have known, not odd imo

By the way Lilym, when you are taking people to task for making errors of judgment or mistaken identities, you do have to be careful that YOU don't appear to be bullying people too. You have made threats in a couple of your posts now - now I know you so I know you aren't a nutter, but others could see you as bullying them with your threats?

I thought the Flintus thread was a challenge to those who cannot be BOTHERED to write correctly - there are plenty of them around and it is lazy and it damn well worries me that these are the adults of the future that could train to be my doctor/dentist/lawyer ETC. There seems to be NO pride in being well educated these days.
