"Stunning!" Help! The equine nation has run out of adjectives

Penumbra I assume its because people may search for a specific colour.

Does anyone know how you can view old ads on horsedeals? I'm intrigued to see how my most recent purchase was described now!

Sometimes 'Stunning' should read 'Wants stunning'.......(cos it's evil or looks like a moose :)

^^^^ Very good!!
It did make me realise that I use a very different tone when saying 'Well, I'm stunned!' compared to 'Wow, how stunning!'. (Not that I say either of these things very often!!)

I keep seeing ads for horses which are 'very correct'. Surely they either are, or are not. What's the 'very' bit about? Also plenty which gives you line after line on pedigree (they are of course 'very talented') - but no information as to whether they are riding stock, breeding stock or paddock ornament. Or just plain fried in the head. But that's OK, because 9 times out of 10 they are 'unique looking'.

I won't even look at a horse advertised as POA. It says to me the seller doesn't know what their horse is worth & is chancing their arm, and anyway, I probably couldn't afford it. Though I might be stunned when I hear their expectations of what the moose is worth.....

Can I please have these phrases i think they would be far more appropriate:D:

Buy-it-NOW -ok three words but you instantly gain some subliminal message when you see the paypal/ebay button icon which technically could be BIN (one word)....this could prove useful?

Sane buyers only - need i explain?

No nut jobs please - as above. Could also replace nut jobs with your choice of whatever it is loony person you are particularly pestered by while selling

and this one for horses advertised on loan :

Not For Sale (once you've got him on the lorry)

Striking /Stunning always make me think of striking out & stunning..as in she received a stunning blow to the head/was stunned...perhaps these horses ARE all stunners...owners are simply trying to use poetic wording to get around being too honest & losing any hope in hell of selling?:)

Having been advertised as the usual " fantastic !!! First to see will buy !!! Stunning arab !!!" etc etc .... when I got there and started chatting to the owner ( who was selling on behalf of someone else - not as dodgy as it sounds ) she then ruined the whole illusion and said

" He's a total muppet, I can't believe anyone brought him in the first place..."

I brought him !

Ooo..is it coincidence that I haven't seen a single ad on the H&Ho home page starting with 'Stunning...'?

Probably.

I have a new one, though. I have responded to a few ads for youngsters in the last couple of days, by email because I'm not getting through on the 'phone. I've stated in my response that I'm hoping to event, with an eye on BE Novice in a few years. This is in hope of eliciting a response about scope, etc.

I've had three replies back saying 'this horse is young and not for a novice' or words to that effect.

Gah.

H- Cuddly.....his pony ;)

P-Mooselike.....is that a word? :o

S-Strange.....would someone buy a horse described as that?
