Not long got in from work, quiet day today as the Children bored at school on a Friday
so I just have to go in to sort things out and make sure ponies/horses are sorted.
Had a bit of a PANIC moment when I was there, was in one of the upstairs bedrooms at work putting some cloths away, I glanced out the window and saw that the field gate was open, at 1st I thought that my Boss must be doing something in there but then as Charlie and Larry were stood right by the gate I realised he wouldn't have been so silly as to leave it open, even if he was close by.
Then I saw Pixie on the drive way grazing
I have never ran down stairs so quick in my life, I was so sure that Charlie and Larry were about to make a run for it and then we would have been in trouble as Charlie tends to go wild when he gets loose
Shut the gate on them and went to round Pixie and Donkey up, Pixie was not keen to go back in the field but after a lot of dragging and swearing I managed to get her back in. Had to chase the donkey round the garden before I could catch him but got him in the end! Luckily my Boss had forgotten to let the 3 ponies out of the starvation patch, if they had been out they would have made a runner for sure! One of them is awful to catch in a small field so if he had got out onto the farm (190 acres) we would have been hours/Days trying to catch him
Apart from nearly giving me heart failure and leaving a load of muddy hoof prints on the lawn no lasting damage was done
It's really drizzly and miserable here so have lit the fire, made some tea and have just sat down with a nice can of larger (classy girl me
Well I am back and have had my kebab and chips - the queue for fish was too long......
Glass of red anyone??
Well at last my week has ended
- and finally managed to get out on a hack this afternoon - the BGL was a good boy apart from the rearing in reverse when the pheasants took off - did some nice passage and piaffe across a ploughed field
Hi everyone, sounds like everyone has had good days.
It's lovely and quiet in my house, OH has finally discovered the joys of reading so TV is off for a change. Though it's bloody freezin, think I need my duvet.
Ok I take it back, he's now playing star wars on the wii! He's 25 believe it or not, though he acts more like 5. Bless, keeps him out of my hair at least
Oooh I forgot to say, Millie is going to her first Hunter Trial on Sunday! I'm quite excited
Not sure what height she's going to jump yet as they have a 2'3" round or a 2'9", ideally for her first time we would have wanted her to do 2'6", typical! So do we go higher or lower?
She can jump 2'9" with ease but just not sure about doing a full course at that height on her first outing
I think we may just see what the course is like when we get there, it's about 1hr30mins away and we have never been before. If the 2'9" isn't up to height it may not be to bad.
I did think that they could do the 2'3" pairs class first to see how she goes and then do the 2'9" individual, aaggrr I just don't know!
Hey guys, Slinks, I'd love a glass.
f_s - eye is better thank crunchie.
I'll not lie to you, been quite lost today. My brother has been asked to say a few words at the funeral. We are all meeting up tomorrow night and taking a beer and a story, think we all need that.
