SWEET FA.........Tuesday

DL im in the same situation with Ted as i dont know what hes like to clip and want to find out and hes coming back into work after 2 weeks tomorrow so he is going to get hot and sweaty especially with my intstructor working him and ive just spoken to her and a guy called Tom who is THE most amazing rider especially jumping has offered to jump Ted on thursday and this is a guy jumping 1.50 tracks and hes just amazing to watch....so excited and so privileged

i just hope i can get down there, i think i might be calling my grandparents to drive me lol
but i will most definitely be armed with camera and video if i can

im so so excited, cos i dont have the confidence to jump atm and i love him doing different things and this guy is just fantastic...i cant believe hes taken up the offer and my instructor asked him in the first place

we all agree the aim is to get him to medium but i think she wants me to event him....not happening lol
 
I wish I could vary Darcy's routine a bit more as at the moment he just hacks/ schools but I genuinley dont know if he even enjoys jumping.

He used to be an eventer, so he's been around the block a few times but he just puts in the most vile stops

Admitedly I've not "properly," jumped for about 5 years so I'm very rusty and he probably know's his way out of it easily but still..

Leaving the rest of this year and early spring to crack him on the flat and then we'll re-start

They've been let into the new field and they galloped flat out across the 3 acres of their old field, and straight down the 2 acres of their new one through all the mud in the gateway. Not quite the 'rest,' I had imagined him giving himself if he had strained something!

that was my plan with Teddy DL but this fall has in a way opened many doors cos i need other people to ride him that hes going to be doing different things

i think my instructors daughter may take him XC schooling at some point too...is such a shame i came off when i did because id got the courage up to just go XC schooling for the hell of with my instructors daughter and stick to the really small stuff and just have fun

I'd plucked up the courage to do random little (and i mean little) logs/ branches/ small ditches out on hacks and when I went to the horse camp for 5 days he went very well for the first 3 days, jumping logs/ mini gateways, doing canter poles and grid work up to 2ft 3 ish.


And then he popped.

My legs and bum are a little bit sore after my marathon schooling session on the BGL yesterday - only managed 30 mins today as had other stuff to do but have got a lesson tomorrow. To be honest I have got so much to do this week I am not entirely sure how I find the time to work!!

just build it up again slowly. I feel off twice a while ago but because I was confident, I still managed to get back on and finish what I set out to do! Just makesure you buil it all up slowly - no pressure and you'll do well

I've just been oggling at the horses for sale on exmoor eventing... (not advertising!!) and it makes me want to get a horse who has been there and done that already so I can get out there and start competing! We won't be competing BE for a while yet
