Okay, I'll explain what I did last time
1. Divided mane up into sections of about the length of a pulling comb.
2. Damped down first section with some gel.
3. Started plaiting down the hair.
4. Threw toys of my pram.
5. Moved onto next piece incase it was easier - it was
Crossed the hair over from side to side , pulling tight each time.
6. Banded, on last bit of the band folded the ends under.
7. Rolled up 2 times.
8. Repeat
Including more pram-throwing.

I shouted at snoops "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BUBBLES BL**DY DEVERE HAVING A MUD PACK AT A 5* SPA" did not realize that a community police officer was leaning over the gate watching me feed her. Nice to know though that they have started to walk past her field since i reported some strange stuff going on .

Evening all,
What have I missed??
Just go in from work and the boots are now back on (couldn't possibly have worn them to work as they may have got muddy!). It only took me 5 minutes to get them on this time so they are definitely staying, they're mine I tell you MINE!!
Took the two beasties for a hack, luckily I found Millies boot, some one had very kindly attached it to the last gate on the farm so I didn't even have to get off to retrieve it
We went for a gallop up a really steep hill and I couldn't believe that Millie didn't get left behind, she was actually nearly faster then Charlie
Must be because I weigh Charlie down

Errrm there's about 11/13 plaits I think
I don't usually wash it before, thinking the grime will give it more grip
And his mane is usually pulled pretty short! Errm can't think of a figure to put it in proportion though
It needs to be re-pulled at the moment as it's looking a bit hoboish

I have a very nice pair of Magellan & Malloys - like Dubarrys - and they are 3 years old and I haven't worn them in the mud yet as I don't want to spoil them!!

I got some mountain horse high riders or something, wore them once or twice in the mud and the zip locked up!

A friends hubby saw some unsavourable characters parked close by and i got paranoid and rang the police they were actually very understanding. Have also got hold of the council and have agreed to have a look at putting a permanant barrier with a stepover so horses can still go down but vehicles cannot, moaning time and time again is working.

Ok - so maybe just clean his mane up tomorrow and spray in a bit of conditioner. I wouldn't pull it but leave it the length it is this time. Make sure the plaits are to 'fat' I find the BGL's come up a bit 'loose' if they are the width of a mane comb - so maybe go for 13 if its normally 11. Rather than using gel to damp it down use just water - I make the BGL's really damp and then it sort of 'sticks' together better. The BGL's mane at the moment is probably about 4/5 inches long - I think you get better plaits if it longer.
ETA - I hot clothed the BGL on saturday including his mane after I had chipped off the worst of the mud - hot water is definately btter than cold.
