Phoebe doesn't leave the garden, we let her..she just is too lazy to bother I think. She was abandoned by her mum who was carrying them all across the road but a car came and hit one of the other little'uns. So , we think it's "put her off," the outside world. The owner didn't care, just wanted them "back in the barn," so we pinched her
Right as its cat night - A few of my cat that I had for a year but last august she went to a friend as I was more allergic than I realised - she was one tiny gorgeous ball of fluff - I got her as a rescue and miss her so much!
Does she have company? Is it because she can taste the medicine in it? What about trying to feed her outside, sounds like she is checking that she is not being left on her own.
I have one that tastes anything different in the feed!!
I try to feed her before she has any hay/haylage, and when I know she is getting hungry. I also add molasses, grated carrot, pears, anything that will tempt her. Fresh mint leaves are good too, and mint essence.
I think it's a bit of trial and error, even things like marmite can encourage them to eat it
I'd agree, also things like Apple chaff etc that have a nice taste and smell to it can encourage them - not that Pads needs any encouragement but that veteran mollichaff witht he thistles, mint etc fair got Ali interested.

This might be a bit contraversal but, I don't feed anything by hand!!
I try and put anything nice in a feed bucket, even if it's the odd polo. I find this stops them fleecing me
and also they associate the feed bucket with nice food, not my hands.
It helps when I have to worm, give medicine etc

I've tried putting little buckets of different feeds about her stable, hanging things for her to 'find', hiding carrots in her hay, spreading feeds around the dry bits of the floor so she goes looking for it.
Not at the moment. We used to have a routine, but she wasn't any different then either. We're looking at starting one again and I have all crossed that she'll be happier...
Mrs M - Don't leave little treats around the stable. Every time she is there she's eating other nice things and not looking forward to her feed bucket
If I want to feed, I don't leave treats around, they just distract them, and stick to a routine, say every day at such and such a time, much better, as they look forward to their feed then
