Not at the moment. We used to have a routine, but she wasn't any different then either. We're looking at starting one again and I have all crossed that she'll be happier...
Could always have it liquidised and squited in

I am a firm believer in routine MrsM - in my opinion/experience, animals are far happier when they know roughly what will happen in their day - don't get me wrong i'm not inflexible but basically I tend to ensure that morning and night routines for feeding are as routined as possible and I find my boys are happy and settled. Their main worry is food and water so if you settle them with a routine fort hat that may take away some stress levels - hopefully that makes sense

Mrs M - Don't leave little treats around the stable. Every time she is there she's eating other nice things and not looking forward to her feed bucket
If I want to feed, I don't leave treats around, they just distract them, and stick to a routine, say every day at such and such a time, much better, as they look forward to their feed then

Sorry! Not explaining myself very well (or even at all lol). M'brain is addled
.
The 'treats' were all parts of her feed - she's been a pain to get to eat since I got her and we've tried all sorts of variations on the theme. She just doesn't seem that bothered about food! Her previous owner used to leave the feed bucket in all day/night and we think she leant that she didn't need to finish up.
Maybe she'll go back to being fairly reasonable about eating once she's working again...

Is she in a set routine MrsM?

Thank you, it does indeed make sense
. The others are happy to eat when they were in a pretty set routine, and when it wasn't so set, but Dizz has always been a pain in the ar$e
. It's part of the reason she ended up looking like a coat rack, and why she had Blue Chip Pro and Outshine - to try and get the calories in without the bulk (she's really not that bothered about chaff based feeds, though ok with sugarbeet and the small 'nut' type feeds).
Just like the Dizz one not to be straightforward. Ho hum.
Have had a bit of a struggle getting Darcy to work long and low and stretch besides at the very, very end of the schooling session so I've decided I'm going to do more transitions / breaks including asking him to stretch etc and not just at the end to try to pick him up/encourage him a bit
right finally caught up with you speedy moving lot
didnt think dinner and waterloo road could make me miss out on so much
looking forward to SS
sorry to hear Dizz is being a pain MrsM
my little input is try copra (im happy to send you some if you'd like to give it a try did wonders for Marley) and try corn oil...cheaper and higher in fat and lower in protein than soya oil
Evening, I'm here just in time for SS, been doing the riding club yearbook all night as meeting tomorrow and I'm supposed to have finished it by then. I am waaaaay off finishing.
Have you tried marmite Mrs M? Yet to find a horse who can resist it, water it down to make it pourable and pour over her feed.
Can I just make a plea for no horse calendars please? Every year I get one from secret santa in work. Why do I want 12 random photos of horses just because I own one?
