It’s a wet and boring day.
I want to know why
X x Y = Z
If X = weather
Y= filthiness of X
Z= time taken to find the right place to have a poo.
I have deep envy for people who’s dogs just go out in the garden on their own and do what’s needed.

And another thing…
When you eat your own body weight in windfall apples and chicken poo it makes for a farty evening. Plan ahead, dogs! Think of your human kennel mates.
 
Mine has the back door open after her breakfast when she has plenty of time to have a poo. Our house is down the side of a green, so a walk to the car. Near my car is a dog poo bin, so if she goes either end of the path it's not a problem, because I can either go back indoors or in my car for a poo bag and dispose of it. Somehow she knows when I don't have a poo bag in my pocket and waits until she's exactly in the middle of the two points, before she apparently can't wait a moment longer 🙄. This means I have to turn back round (which she's reluctant to do) or go to my car for a bag, then walk all the way back, to dispose of it. It drives me mad!
 
Mine sometimes goes from about 7pm (roughly time he usually gets back from evening walk) right through until the next morning because he refuses to go out for a last night time wee / poo when us humans think he should (ie about 11pm ish)

If you try to make him go out to do this when he doesn’t want to he will either hover in the doorway, go out onto the patio & turn around & stare at you or find something to bark at. If you go out with him and really really insist he will eventually wee but it may take about 5 minutes of standing out there with him.

Decided a few years ago that he’s big enough & ugly enough to ask if he wants to go out (sometimes he will ask as you’re putting him to bed… sometimes this is genuine, sometimes it’s a delaying tactic like a small child asking for a glass of water etc) and that I’m done forcing him if he doesn’t think he needs to.
 
To answer the thread question though....

I love my little Phoebe dog but oh deary me, the noises. I don't mean barking, I mean the full, unabridged range of whiney, squeaky noises that she has for every emotion. They are not even really an expression of emotion, they are just an 'I feel therefore I squeak' thing.
 
My girls are really good.

The boy is annoying...and skanky.

He will have a wee, then have a taste of the girls wees, then stare at me chattering his teeth, then have a poo....then trot towards the house, change his mind and find another wee spot.

In terms of how they are annoying in general

- the Lurcher gets so excited when I get up in the morning, that she bites me in the ass. I can't turn my back on her for fear of being nipped in the bottom.

- the Whippet demands food. Full on tantrum if he's hungry. He had Meningitis as a puppy so was being fed little and often while on the steroids. He is still on three meals a day at rising 4. I can't help but find his outburst endearingly cute though, so I have no plans to work on it.

- the GSD x jumps up when I get the leads out. She has learnt that she is not allowed to jump on me, but will still ping in the air multiple times before settling down to let me put her lead on.

She also gobs off at the back fence when let out for her evening wee. She doesnt do it at all in the morning or day time, only for the last wee of the night. I imagine its because its my partner that does the last wee and shes not convinced he has control of the perimeter 😅

She’s an instant go girl atm. But then while Ffee is selecting her spot she does 50 laps of the paddock. So in the torch you see madly gleaming eyes and a frothing muzzle flash fpast you at intervals.
 
My new one is going to be educated to love all weather (I have no idea how to do this). Rew (lurcher) seems to get SAD every autumn, and when it’s raining I can barely get him out of the house. He was a spring puppy, and that summer was amazing.

Next puppy, also a lurcher, was born in September - she will need to suck it up, I can’t have two sulking on the sofa for months.

I nonchalantly dropped it into the agility thread. 😬 I don’t have any photos of my own yet, once she moves in there will be an overload. Anyway, chestnut skewbald, 3/4 Italian greyhound 1/4 whippet. Dam is a lovely and successful agility dog, dog is in training to be the same!
 
Just seen your post Clodagh. I thought your dogs were perfect!
None of your grumbles are any trouble here. Mine will ask to go out, or go when told. No mud here either! 😁

Mr R has a fool proof way of getting JB to do a wee. He has one himself and the dog immediately follows suit.

I have not tried this method myself.
 
My whippet does perfectly normal poos in the garden but when I walk he will do 2 normal poos then insist on squeezing out one liquid poo. Why?! It’s literally about a teaspoon full and he really strains to get it out, it’s like he feel obligated to do it.

He also does the licking girl wee and teeth chattering thing and he follows me and my daughter to the bathroom and also will steal knickers from the washing basket!

I feel your pain on this one. Tala loves to chat which isn't too bad but half hour to 1 hour before her evening walk she will just whine from wherever she is lying. Doesn't want to play, doesn't want fuss just wants the walk brought forward, which would be fine if she would poo in the garden but she won't so have to hold off on her last walk for as long as possible. It's generally only 4 hours after she got back from the last one so I don't think we are being unreasonable. She also only fusses about her first and last walks, the other 2 she would probably happily sleep through lol.
 
Puppy has a very annoying habit of picking up water dishes and turning them upside-down.

He had already smashed a ceramic cat dish, by dropping it on the tiles in the kitchen. He'll pick up a dish and carry it through the house, then flip it upside-down in front of you. At least the floors are clean 🙈.

The two big water bowls have been banished outside, and he has a tiny dish attached to his crate which has to be filled constantly 🙄.
 
So actual answer....

Skaer - trompling (a word coined specifically for her). If I annoy her in any way such as refusing to share food, scratch her arse, go to bed on demand etc etc....she goes to any other person in the house and trample stomps on them until they complain to me....manipulation at it's finest as she knows I won't allow it so she targets the weak to get her way.....

Sassy - spinning. I hate it, at doors, occasionally when working.
 
Wanting to go to the loo in the middle of dinner, then taking off in the middle of said loo maneuver after deer, in the middle of a storm, then ignoring me screaming her name when she was found stood the other side of the hedge eating something dead!

Needless to say I was very cold, very wet amd my dinner was also cold.... don't you love adolescent dogs!

Oh,yours as well? Every Single Day. Then the chivvying to hurry me up, which apparently means standing on my feet when I’m getting dressed and twirling round the room when I’m trying to get his coat and harness on. Any inclement weather is my fault and means a lot of sulky sniffing and not much actual walking.
 
My terrier refuses to toilet in my garden so has to be taken out. The outside my garden area is crawling with dear little hedgehogs cunningly disguising themselves as molehills with little flashy eyes. My terrier is obsessed with them and has to check the whole area (on a lead) to do a count before any toileting can commence. She is oblivious to the weather with her thick double coat which absorbs mud and water like a sponge. Upon our return, she carefully walks around all the mud mats to leave her muddy footprints on the white floor tiles, then takes herself to my bed where she rolls and rubs herself luxuriously warm and dry. I think I may have spoilt her a bit..😂

You’re kinder than me… I’d pick her up in a towel and chuck her in her cage for a couple of hours!
