I really hope this is a joke!!

For the sake of the poor horse! Please call a vet NOW if you are genuine!

Let me put it this way....LAMINITIS IS A KILLER!!!! I know from experience, my friend lost two within a month!

Please do not delay this imo is an emergency call out for a vet!!

Are you trying to kill your horse? Wonder what it looks like if his pedal bone falls out his foot with laminitis, or maybe hes got some rip roaring infection in his legs thats going to make him septic and all his organs fail one by one! THis is making me very angry now, how much advice do you want- CALL A VET! It might not be anything bad but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Herbs are not bute by the way, if they were I am sure they won't put in on the shelf so people like you could get it. I can't believe your horse was lying flat out, not wanting to move and has swollen legs and you don't want to call a vet. I pity your poor horse.

i'm a very polite forum user who has never in her life got into an argument... but i will say this...

CALL A FRICKING VET

NOW

your horse could die. your horse could have very expensive vets bills for a very long time. but most importantly... your horse could be SAVED with one phonecall.

i will repeat my reply on your original post;

why have you not called the vet?? please, your horse is obviously in a lot of discomfort. i would ignore the advice of the tack shop lady and get the vet to diagnose and advise you on how to treat.
sorry to be so blunt, but you have ignored the advice of all who answered your OP and all said call the vet...

I've only just read this, and it has made me so angry that she just kept trying to justify what she is doing by insisting that a herbal remedy is going to cure a horse that can barely stand? I feel for the horse, I really do. I'm certainly not as experienced as half the people on here but I do know that if your horse cannot bare to stand it needs a VET!

I pray she has called one and the horse will be okay.

Please call the vet my best friends mare has just been pts with symptoms very much the same at the start. 8 weeks later and 2 sets of xrays the vets saw no hope ( she was even chewing her own feet at the end)
I really do not want to scare you but i would not wish the grief my mate is suffering on anybody.
i do hope its something and nothing and we are all thinking the worst.
good luck and let us know how it goes.
Fingers crossed for poorly ned.

Get a VET..........now.

Anything else is a serious case of neglect. If your horse needs pain relief because of lami, it needs it NOW and IV..........

you have 2 options as i see it,

don't call the vet = risk your horses health and possible his life

or

call the vet = find out excatly what is wrong with him and know how to sort him out

i know what option i would be doing. (p.s. i have already had to do it this week even though the out come was not what i expected and the horses is exclueded on his insurance for it)

You would hope wouldn't you, but sadly as you came post in here without being signed in, I somehow doubt it. I amazes me that people happily pay for lessons to improve their jumping, when really what the need is some lessons in basic horse health, care and management.
