That head - he really does put his stamp on his babies! Maisy

He really does. She looks so like Mylo. They have similar markings too: white socks, white face.

99% sold on Maia as a name. Greek Goddess, popular German name. Goes well with Mylo and not far off the cute name she goes by now which also starts with M and is 2 syllables.

She is amazing!! @Ambers Echo, which breeders and producers did you reach out to? Feel free to pm if you don't want to post! Thank you!

I put a post on FB requesting personal recommendations of breeders/producers of horses. I then looked at pages of the ones I liked and reached out to a few.

Though in fact the breeder knew me because I used Legrande for Amber via natural cover, so Amber was at their yard for a while. And I’ve kept in touch about Mylo. She pmed me about this one when she saw my post.

I’ll pm you a link to the post if you like? Loads of suggestions - and a few names came up again and again x

I used to have a pet fancy rat called Maia Favonia (after a character in Lindsey Davies’ Falco series of Roman crime novels). She was the best girl! Sweet, cheeky and full of character. ETA, this Maia had black hair too - both the rat and the character.

Your possible ‘Maia’ looks fabulous.

She's very fancy! What will be your plans with her? Will you back her yourself?

I'll start the process on the ground with Joe Midgley's guidance and get her ready for her first sit. If I then do that myself depends rather on how she reacts to other novel experiences. But either way, once she accepts a rider calmly and happily I will send her away to be produced further - I don't have the skills to school on. I am hoping a Joe/Sophie double act will take her on for a few weeks......

I was going to vote May (or Mae), as that is my middle name, but I see the thinking has changed!

I had to name my late mare (Kiana) and someone suggested using the back of an atlas (this was back in 1997!) so that's what I did. I picked K as that is what my name begins with, and found a name that I liked! (its in Alaska!).
