Off to a camp tomorrow morning through to Sunday PM, so will be doing a variety of stressage, sj, polework and possibly xc (will very much depend on ground tho for xc, tho they have said it's been looked after well).
So, packing stuff this afternoon and tack cleaning etc, leaving soon after rush hour I think.

Good luck to anyone competing, whatever you are doing - have fun!

I'm eventer trialling tonight! The dressage and SJ combo last week was fun so thought I'd go for the SJ/XC combo next also at 90 level. So by the time I do my first BE90 in a couple of weeks, I will have done all 3 phases, even if not at the same event.

I am also super excited as I have just ordered my 3.5T lorry which is going to be ACE. Fully bespoke living: comfy chairs facing each other with a table in between that converts to a bed (table become bed base!), hob, fridge, sink. Big tack lockers. Hook up, plugs, funky lights, music. All sprayed in my company colours. Can't wait to see it finished. I am more exvited about this than any vehicle I have ever bought before. (Dont really care about cars). And it's not even that expensive considering how fab it's going to be. Built on a 2016 long wheel base with less than 100,000 on the clock.

I'm like a kid at christmas. Ordering it was the easy bit - now to sell the car and trailer and raise the rest of the money.....

Wow AE, new box sounds fab! ? how long before you get it ?

No idea! I can't afford to pay ot off for a few months anyway so I am hoping around Christmas? I need to finish the season off then sell trailer/car.

The guesstimate was 12 weeks but I expect it to take longer (it always seems to) and am in no hurry - as long as it is before next season starts!

Continuing with groundwork with my TB, first session yesterday morning and it went really well. Lots of stretching, he is such a clever horse, almost as if he already knew what I wanted him to do!
Tbs are so trainable! You will find that out ?They always want to please you ♥️

That sounds lovely! What sort of payload do you get with that much living in? Considering upgrading mine.

I'm not doing much, have a lesson on Sat with the potato. Haven't done much riding as I've had to wear glasses due to having conjunctivitis. My vision is really poor so I don't like riding in glasses as the distortion is too much.

I've also been watching the working equitation world championships. It is free to watch here if anyone else fancies it!

I have camp on Saturday. It’s running fri-sun but tbh Tali isn’t fit enough to do 3 days. We’ve got 2 lessons booked on the Saturday so that will be a big enough ask for her. XC on Saturday morning which I’m a bit nervous about having only been on a XC course once. There’s only one other person in my afternoon lesson so I must make sure to listen to Tali incase she’s tiring. There’s plenty I need to work on so it might not be too much hard work for her anyway. But I’m really looking forward to it. I might go along on Sunday and watch some lessons if OH doesn’t have any plans as I’ve been neglecting him a bit.

on a rather sillier note, our hacking group has been having a gallop up a newly cut field and so far Equilabs has clocked me and Tali fastest last night and we’re the smallest by nearly a hand ? she’s actually managing the whole way up the hill easily so she’s maybe fitter than I think.

Microcob struggled with her breathing in the two hot days and her gut has gone to pot too now. Went for a short ride yesterday and she wasn't happy so a few days off to see if the cooler weather helps her body. By the looks of my field she had a good blast after last night's downpour so hopefully the dodgy gut is temporary!

Baby cob hasn't done much all week but we have a saddle fit next Tues and I will need to canter in whatever we try on him - he has a big cob canter and it isn't the easiest to sit to. Thought with slightly softer ground we'd better check we still had steering and brakes. Hasn't cantered for ages because of the ground and he was a super star. Correct lead both times, remembered steering as well as forward and didn't stick his ears up my nose! Going to aim for a slightly longer solo ride on him on Sunday if we've managed to find the gap between hay making tractors on the road and the combines. Its a narrow road and meeting one of them is 'interesting'

Not a lot of horsey stuff here as I'm off on holiday on Saturday :D Just a week in Anglesey but it's my first week off since the start of March and I feel like I really need it!

That's so exciting!! I ordered a lorry last October and they've only just managed to get a chassis so it will be a year between ordering it and getting it ?. Great that you already have one! I was also wondering about the payload as the living sounds similar to mine, but mine is 4.5T and they estimate a 1.6T payload. I am VERY excited about mine and already have a buyer for my current 7.5T!

Not a lot, quelle surpise.

Might commence some loading training with loan horse. have nowhere to go particularly but it's on the to-do list and i have my Big Gun loading buddy sitting there in the stable next to his at the moment, good old Millie :D Might also relocate 2 of the field potatoes to the nursery paddock as there's actually grass there which could be grazed off.

I will mostly be playing 'Chase the shade' with my horse on box rest- we have 3 different sets of pens set up for each part of the day
Other than that, ride the racehorse- I will hopefully introduce him to the concept of a course of jumps by doing a round of walk poles through the wings/ fillers. I've got it set up in the haylage field and he has been gradually learning that going on grass does not equal anything exciting.
Oh, and foal cuddling, because they’re just adorable little characters at the moment (and I need to wrestle them both into halters and then a wormer in their mouths on Sunday)
Plotting mischief…..

Camp sounds fun. And new lorry is very exciting, it sounds lush!

Quiet one for me, think it’s still going to be a bit warm this weekend. Hacking Saturday.

Haven’t had a lesson for a while so it was good to get back to it yesterday with my usual lesson at the yard. It’s been a slow steady journey but we’re now at the point of improving the canter work and asking for/expecting better quality work. This time last year I could barely canter in the school and he kept falling on his forehand in the transition down. Now we can do a passable dressage test. You gotta celebrate the ‘little wins’!

Quiet one for us (again).

Ended up giving my lot the week off so we will get back to it tomorrow as we have a few outings coming up. Also, my groom unexpectedly quit on Monday ? so I’ve been using the extra ‘free’ time to catch up on my poo-picking.

Not a lot going on here. Coblet is still off games.
I am writing at Wellington tmw for the prelim bronze Area Festival - always enjoy doing some writing and will hopefully pick up some tips.
Will finally get to ride Shambles after 10days off. Have just been too busy at work or it's been too hot. Am also going to try him in a double bridle for the first time, hopefully he takes to it easily.
