Weekend plans :D

Nope, won't believe it, Skylla is super cool carriage horse supremo, you must've been mistaken....maybe the judge smelt funny

The judge was actually very sympathetic to me, I got 7's for my riding, Skylla got 5's ;).

Skylla is on the naughty step until she learns that the hooman dictates when cantering happens, and having a queeny nappy strop when told to stop cantering as we are suppose to be trotting here, is not on :rolleyes3:

So sorry to hear that MP, hopefully it's not as bad as it seems?

My weekend ended badly too, I went to my first ODE, did ok in the dressage, clear in the showjumping, but my pony decided I looked better on the table than his back in the cross country and I've broken my finger :( My poor friend (who owns the pony) was waiting in the start box when the words "medic please" came over the walkie talkie. She was beside herself and wanted to withdraw. Thankfully she didn't and ended in 2nd place :)

Oh yikes, not what you want, and not what you want to hear before you go round. Sorry and hope it heals soon!

How gutting about Millie, if it's any consolation my girl has retired to the field like a pig in s**t and actually once the retirement is official I have found it mentally quite a relief in a way. PM me your budget and absolute must haves and I will flag anything I see, I'm looking on pretty much a daily basis at the moment!

Vet has been and could see P was unlevel but reckoned he looked a lot better than most other horses he'd seen this morning! Flexions all ok, poking and prodding and hoof testers all ok. He's suggested a couple of quiet weeks then reassess. So no ODE for us on Sunday :( but hopefully ok for our Area Festival at the end of the month.

I was preparing myself for news of hock arthritis or suspensory strain so I'm pretty relieved!

Just catching up here... so sorry to hear that MP, how absolutely gutting for you after a brilliant couple of months with Millie.

I had a fabulous Saturday, and rode Tartine for the first time in almost 3 months. She felt great, and really willing. Amazingly, despite doing absolutely nothing (box>field>box>field etc) she hasn't put any weight on, and I could fasten the girth on the same holes as before! <3 We had a really, really easy session, playing around with the level of the head (stretching to more working, back to stretch etc), some leg yielding, haunches in, shoulder in, and one teeny weeny trot circle on each rein. She was brilliant, and hasn't forgotten anything (unlike her rider :o )

Blitz has decided that he obviously didn't do a good enough job on his leg the last time, and tried to chop the same one off *again* last night, so as well as taking the surface of the 9almost healed) wounds from 3 weeks ago, he now has a fabulous 2in long rope burn across the middle of his hock joint to join them. Joint fairly warm and very tender this morning, though he is only 2/10s lame, so he was cold hosed, buted and sprayed, and I have the YO keeping an eye on (specifically asked!) in case the swelling gets any worse. But similar to last time, not much the vet can do (and I still haven't received that bill :o )

Ahh good news jiffy :D

And bad news Casey, horses, eh? Arghhhh.

I told Kira she had to be an advanced horse now, and she peeked at me through her forelock and said she'd have a go :o
Fun lesson this morning, looking at quarter turns towards piris and she nailed her 4 tempis - little bit crooked but they are staying forward and not croup high so definitely getting there. He's thrown down the gauntlet so we have to keep on practicing!

Will be keeping everything crossed for Millie today! MP, please update us as soon as you can!

Jiffy, shame about the ODE but at least it's not what you thought! Hopefully a few quiet weeks will sort him.

Casey, shame about the injuries. Bowser is also seems to be intent on doing himself a mischief at the moment. Coming in with all sorts of cuts and scrapes. Hopefully Blitz will be on the mend very soon.

Sending healing vibes a-plenty to all the poorly ponies!

Thank you! He's a tough little horse so we'll check him again in a week and hopefully he can have a week of hacking then a week of schooling before our Novice Areas. Dressage is our main focus so fingers crossed..! Otherwise it will be full lameness workup.

Casey - that doesn't sound like much fun :( I hope he heals soon!

thanks for the HHO vibes, guys... they have worked and it's better than it looked - she has a very nasty inflamed tendon sheath and the manica is looking angry and thickened but *not* torn so a much better outcome than the outward appearance suggested...
Quiet few weeks on danilon doing some in hand pottering, and then she can start 20 min hacks and see where we are.

I asked vet if she would retire at this point, she sucked her teeth and said that knowing how fragile she is, she would understand if I felt that was right, but she would suggest giving it a try this one last time as she looks and feels so well. She's 10 times better than she was on Sunday - sunday was toe dragging lameness so the quick improvement is hopefully a good sign. If the tendon sheath blows up again, then we will know that it won't stand up to any work but at the moment not quite as bleak as expected. That 1% hope has pulled us through... for now... Arghhhhhhhh it's such a flaming rollercoaster!

Oh what a little heartbreaker Millie is! Here's hoping it carries on going down rapidly and she doesn't seem too delicate on it afterwards

Phew, so glad it's not as bad as you thought! Fingers crossed for a quick and straightforward recovery :)

Gosh MP, she really does like to scare you! Fingers crossed she comes back after a short break, you've been doing so well with her this year that it seems a shame if you can't carry on. Good luck and keep us posted!

That's fantastic news MP. I'm so pleased for you. These horses really put us through it don't they!!!Having started 10 mins of ridden work on my boy, he has slight swelling again around the tendon sheath area ,so its back to square one and vet out on friday.

Thanks all, yup, they really put you through the wringer. 5 rehabs in 4 years..... that's taking the biscuit methinks! At least it sounds like this one will hopefully (fingers toes & eyes crossed)be a bit less protracted. Trainer described it as having the sword of damocles hanging over me, which is about right, god knows what will go wrong next but maybe, just maybe we'll get that advanced done!

Hope yours has the good grace to absorb some healing HHO vibes claracanter :(

Blimey MP I've only just caught up - I was wondering why people were still replying to the thread! So glad it was good news for Millie today, she sounds worse than Islay greyhound for putting you through stress!!

I wondering if I should could myself lucky that Jensen only has mental health issues not physical ones!
