Weekend Plans :D

Wow great success all round. Lovely horse BM. Lovely round Chippers. Great scores & results Asha, Nikicb & MillieP.

I had an interesting day! Report to follow but basically lovely dressage to the 2nd canter then she spooked and never settled again, fab XC but a total car crash of a SJ round :eek:
The return of Amber The Crazy Orange Beastie. She was WILD. No idea why really as she has been really rideable recently. Oh well. We got 16 faults and 12 times pens (gallop/trot/gallop/trot is not very fast overall!) and were lucky not to come off even worse! In fact she jumped so extravagantly over number 3 that my saddle slipped on landing and I did the rest of the course sideways :rolleyes:

But never mind eh. I wasn't eliminated. I have a BE90 score. WooHoo:D:D. BE90 is honestly a dream come true.

Butter wouldn't melt....

You both look great chippers. He’s jumping well. That looks fun. Where was this?
Thank you 😊 think we're getting a bit more together!
It's at Derby college Equestrian centre, really nice venue. First trip in the new box too, had a few balance issues (he's used to going forwards not backwards!) But he travelled really well and even stood on the box whilst we waited - I won't say quietly though he was a bit stompy 😅

Hurrah!

Did you remember the XC course? 😄

Too right. I always feel like i get the most out of the lessons where things go a bit rubbish, even though it's more fun when everything goes your way, it's the perfect time for things to unravel because that's when you have the help to sort it out again :) if you have a crap ride when you're on your own, I think that's more depressing.

Thanks mp, that's helped cheer me up. Just got to remember it's supposed to be FUN!!
Great result with Kira too.

Looks like there have been plenty of other successes on the thread this weekend also. I've been away overnight so only just reading and catching up but looking forward to reading everyone else's posts :)

You looked fantastic chippers..
Well done x x

Chuffed for you AE x x SJ can always be sorted...

Well done Asha, but I do love pics of your IDs 😣😣

Our RC champs didn't go too well, Fionn went amazing in the warm up, literally pinging.

But as soon as we went in the main arena be just went green, and rolled 2 poles, then stopped at a spooky oxer.

Back to the drawing board...

And me 🙋‍♀️

Took Beau to Muirmill yesterday so my trainer could jump him. In the newcomers he ran out of number 4 - looked to me like she went wide and he just ducked out the side.

Then into the RHS qualifier. He jumped like a beast in the first round and then I don’t know what happened in the jump off. 🤷‍♀️
He stopped at the first fence and ended up getting eliminated. 🤦‍♀️

Possibly not fit enough or warm enough as trainer only had a couple of minutes to get him going between jumping her other horse and the jump off starting.

Anyhoo... Blue and Raz can now come back into work so I have more than one horse to ride - yay 😄

Well I finished off our weekend with some fun on XC. I haven't taken Coolie out in months but he was very sensible, and I had forgotten how good he is out there. We jumped around a few things and went home before it got too hot. 39 here today o_O

Well done everyone, sound like loads of people got out and had a good time!

Goodness, so much success! Well done AE, AEv, niki, MP, Chippers...

Well I didn't achieve any sexy ears pics yesterday as green horse out on the roads in a gale and sideways rain didn't seem advisable somehow! So I took a couple of less sexy in the school photos this morning:
Chilling in the morning sun

Happy Monday everyone!

Fantastic well done!!!!!!

Showjumping by far the most terrifying phase I think!

What, did you really think I would hog all the heat by myself? Being generous I blew it northwest ;) Coolie looks awesome! Lovely lower leg, something I need to work on when I can jump regularly again....

Well, it's Tuesday, but I finally got round to reading everyone's posts. Sounds like a lot of fun has been had by most. Thank you to all who commented/liked my post. Really hope Rose is sorted Oldie - it is really hard when they are still relatively new to you to work out how bad they are feeling.

In all my excitement about Regionals, I forgot to mention that we also went to Parwood on Thursday for our first 2019 competition. Yes, it was 2 days before regionals, but our previous plans were scuppered by the snow. We managed to get our final Area Festival qualification in style by winning our section, and coming 3rd overall in a fairly large class, so very very happy with my princess pony this week.

And a few stills from the Regionals here.....

Rose is having a very quiet weekend. My physio came and checked her out, she was very sore (T13/14 area), tight in her back and neck generally and not quite level in her hindquarters. Physio spent nearly two hours with massage, manipulation and laser. I feel very very guilty as her behaviour had been slowly changing over the last month and it took me being bucked off to realise that she might be telling me she was in pain. In my defence, it's only been the past couple of weeks that she's been feeling tight and resistent and it was possible to work her through it. although the quality of work was just not there. She had become fidgetty to tack up though. I thought that she'd settled in and was testing boundaries! I think the mega hooley that took place with little fatty might be the cause but it's probably lots of things combined. I am hoping that I now have my Rose back. It's aways difficult to post stuff like this but when you don't know a horse well it is so easy to miss the subtle signs that something is wrong physically and I think she is quite stoical unlike Bisto who let me know immediately if he was not quite right.

Lovely to read all the posts about your comps etc though.

O48, I think most of us who have been around long enough have been in your shoes at some time in our horse owning career. . Please don't beat yourself up about it. I hope Rosie is back on form soon.

best of luck BM.

we're just back from a fun lesson, they all seem pretty fun at the moment which is a nice position to be in :) lots of pinging around in collection and then 3s, 2s, and 1 tempis, followed by some pretty smart pirouettes (the right one is still the harder, but the canter tends to be slower to the right so same old homework there to keep the footfalls snappy).

she feels so strong now, i'm now seeing where she has come on over the winter. We used to fall out of the piris a bit as she would lose her balance on exit, which makes the Inter1 line (where you have consecutive piris on short diagonals followed by a change) very hard to achieve. Now it feels quite doable because she keeps the same balance throughout. Clever little wotsit.

Millie is having a quiet week. She’s not been ridden since Saturday, mostly due to the weather. I’ve spent all winter riding in all sorts of weather but I seem to have hit a brick wall and just can’t do it to myself at the moment. Forecast for the rest of the week and weekend is rubbish, and I’m badly bruised after my chiro (literally, my right hip is black and blue!) so she may well get a few more days off. Polly’s return to work has ground to a halt aswell. I’m just so tired at the moment.
Roll on brighter weather!

Hopefully not jinxing myself here... 😅

He’s a 17.1hh ISH by one of the VDL stallions (my favourite stud - Blue came from them), rising 6. He’s done a fair bit - jumped up to fox with an amateur, which is what I eventually hope to do with him. 🙂

He’s called Oreo, after the biscuit, but I think I’ll change it to Rio as he doesn’t really look like an Oreo, iykwim? Will post a pic tomorrow if the X-rays are all ok 🤞🏻
