Weekend plans :)

Just hiring an Arena Eventing course for me (well if they get back to me I will be!) got car stuff to sort Saturday (rubbish). Could be pony's last trip in my box as i'm getting a new one next week :D:D so if anyone is on the look out for a 3.5t older horsebox (which is safe and reliable) give me a shout!

Does Monday count as the weekend? I am going to course hire on Monday! This will be our first time jumping away from home since her DDFT operation in November 2017. She was on fire in my lesson last week so hopefully we can carry this through. Will be nice to be indoors even if she is an idiot

Have discovered a riser pad makes my saddle a bit more comfortable for beastie and going to try and get out on a short hack - he's going stir crazy without a job and no amount of long-reining over weird obstacles and over poles seems to be touching the sides. Despite cutting out hard feed he's being a tw*t. Can't long rein on hacks as that is too much like hacking alone (as in it's impossible and too frightening) and nobody is around to help, so for both of our sakes it's teeny plods for us.

Good luck with plans all! Look forward to reading about lots of successful weekends :)

I haven't ridden all week as been ill with the flu so we'll be taking it easy over the weekend hacking if I'm up to it then I have a jumping lesson on Monday and trying to get M trimmed up and looking smart for some up coming working hunters

Taking the boys to a cavaletti clinic on Sunday. I know it isn't high off the ground but for B it will be his first time jumping since having his suspensory injury and for DP it will be the first time leaving the ground for 4 years after he went horrendously lame when he learnt to jump. His foot imbalance issues are now sorted so I'm confident I won't have two lame horses on Monday morning.

Off to dressage on Saturday. He has only been ridden once since the Saturday before last due to work commitments and then the flu.
Had a lesson yesterday and got my instructor to ride him before I jumped on for the last 20mins as that's all I could manage. So this weekend could be interesting.
Will probably hack Sunday if the weather is ok

Good luck to all those competing, and hope everyone has a fun weekend

Possibly showjumping on Sunday, had flu all week and missed two days of work which is unheard of. Planning to walk round the block Saturday and if I can do that, I'm obviously fit to ride, right?!

Hopefully a nice long hack Saturday then picking up my new trailer Sunday morning! Super excited as will be my first ever horsey transport, so hopefully will be able to have more exciting weekend plans in the near future!

Ahhhh enjoy. It’s the best feeling. I couldn’t stop staring at my trailer when I first got it!!! And grinned way more driving my lorry home a few years later than driving a sports car home ;)

Ahh thank you, so excited! It’s nothing particularly swanky or new, but safe, sound and hopefully a nice little first trailer .

I hope I can get some rides in this weekend! Might even have a saddle sorted out for my Haffy, been bareback so far :o
Unfortunately we're in a pretty desperate bushfire conditions at the moment, so its very smoky, hot and windy today. Whilst there are no fires near my ponies, if one does start its pretty much unstoppable so will be on tenterhooks today and this weekend :/ Not the best way to spend my birthday but that's Australia for you!

Well after nearly 2 months of 1 horse being lame he is now sound so just getting him fit, and thought great now I have 2 to ride so was going to have a horse filled weekend of hacking and schooling, only to find horse 2 came in looking dodgy had vet out and his badly pulled the muscles in his back leg!

So back to only having 1 to ride so will have some extra time on my hands now, so might clip the hairy one that's been out of work if it's dry and not freezing.

I had an in hand lesson last night and on Saturday afternoon we have a ridden lesson. After a challenging start to the winter it looks like we're going to be OK and out showing again later this year, we'll miss the spring sessions but I can live with that as I remember all the"beast from the easts" last March and how cold that was.

No plans other than pottering with the horses at home. Millie will hack, although we have a huge digger truck in a clearing on the neighbouring cottages land, which is right next to one of our farm tracks so I have a feeling we will be going past that either sideways, backwards or at considerable speed...

Polly is continuing her inhand work.

Happy Birthday Chippers.
Good luck to your son, Fiona.
Hope horse 2 is ok Pinkvboots. Horses are a nightmare!
Good luck wiht the viewing EllzBellz97 (ignore what I said you Pinkvboots!!)
Mini Beast from the East has receded so I can ride this weekend I hope. 9 days since my last ride......

Fingers crossed the fires don’t affect you, sounds very scarey.

Had SJ lesson on Thursday which was good. Mr H was being very well behaved at 75cm with brakes working fine. He was so quiet I wondered if he was feeling tired. So instructor puts them up a couple of holes....mr H suddenly woke up! Did massive jump standing off an oxer and I slipped my reins, so then we were charging at the next jump with reins on the buckle and minimal control 😂
Flatwork lesson tomorrow, a bit of discipline to counter balance the SJ excitement! Hopefully a hack on Sunday. Have fun everyone

I just had to share these pics - the photos of clipped M are from this week, the photos of summer coat M are from July 2018 - can't actually believe the difference in 6 months! It's now time for a saddle rethink because whilst the current saddle has allowed the topline to improve beyond my expectations I don't think it can accommodate any more changes now

Arena hire today :D We actually did something other than hack, for once in winter! Obviously, it'll just be hacking tomorrow and Sunday now, but still... If my tow car can get its backside in gear, I'm going to take her out every couple of weeks and get her going over fences a bit better by spring. Didn't do much today as she's fluffy and hasn't done much jumping at all - but cruised around over some poles on the ground, popped a few x poles, some wavy planks and stuff. She's very sweet - but needs to learn the game a bit (some erratic take off spots today!) - build some confidence and all that.

Saddle check this morning... All good! This weekend I'm off for an overnighter in Leeds with the OH so a quick lunge tomorrow morning for Chill before I get going! Next weekend will hopefully bring with it another competition. :)
