Unless my eyes are deceiving me, there doesn't seem to be a thread started yet, so.....

I'm off to Wellington with Cassie for a DTM clinic with Gaynor Colbourn - we did one a year ago which I loved, but with one thing and another didn't finalise our music. Cassie is currently acting as though she ate all the blue smarties, so it could be interesting, but I felt a lot more secure riding today after her saddle was adjusted and reflocked. She's changed shape so much recently, a lot of which is due to her treadmill sessions. Then on Saturday I'm heading back to Wellington to watch the Ingrid Klimke masterclass which should be interesting. What is everyone else up to? :) x

Yard showjumping with their old schoolmaster horse again. 80 and 90, unless we have tiny entries like last time and decide to make the heights bigger.

Mantra for this time: 'I will not flash my knickers at anyone!' Brought new, non split jodhs!

Hope everyone has a great time out and about.

Lesson with a new instructor tomorrow, which I'm a bit anxious about. I've seen him teach others on the yard, and he's very, um, forthright. My usual instructor is a bit too nice with me and doesn't push me hard enough, so I'm trying a bit of a change.

Saturday, I actually have a social life (giant trampoline in a cave in Wales, apparently), and Sunday is back to hacking.

Tomorrow we are doing polework and Sunday i have someone coming to measure how well I use my core when riding. I'll tell you more after i've done it but it sounds interesting and will probaby be very depressing. As we went out and did a test today, I'll probably give Rose Saturday off unless I can find someone to hack out with me as I hate hacking alone. Good luck to everyone who is out competing this weekend!

That sounds fascinating! Will be really interested to read about it.

I’m playing camera woman on Sunday as share horse’s owner is entering Dressage Anywhere. We had a practice go tonight but it was getting quite dark and I am not good at calling a test and recording it at the same time!

I'm all out of whack. I took my mare to do some jumping on Tuesday, which was sort of last weekend for me. I'm working again this weekend, so any plans will be midweek next week (and I haven't sorted anything yet!).

Gratuitous photos of the mare learning new stuff (and me looking gormless and very out of practice at this jumping lark!)

I'm helping at a rescheduled pleasure ride on Sunday which should be fun. Around that I have several canter trips planned plus hopefully a longish ride on my big mare tomorrow. If I'm lucky I will get to give her a jump as well!
I took my lovely but currently very fresh New Forest to a jumping session yesterday and think his workload needs upping as he was a shade sharper than I think he needs to be. In his defence he hasn't been ridden in a school since October and they are a place he can be a bit wired anyway.

No major plans. Just playing at home. I’m planning to do more hacking with my little chap. I’m trying to build up my confidence. He’s always been wonderful to hack, but since the eye removal he has been spookier. Still nothing compared to many horses but it’s different so it’s in my head. I rode him in from the field today, which was lovely. A rare sighting of him without either a fly mask or his equivizor

I'm going to watch a Bent Branderup demo 😂 which should be completely fabulous. I'm dragging OH along with me too blessed him.

Apart from that just normal riding (as we are still very flu infested around this area), and getting generally excited about spring being in the air 😁

Nothing again for me...Buzz was vaccinated yesterday so it'll be a weekend off then some gentle walking for a few days until he's back to normal. He was so very good with the vet yesterday though. He has a bit of a needle phobia (apparently a vet in his old home got a needle stuck in his neck) so his previous owners used to sedate him to vaccinate. My vet after I got him vaccinated in his chest and he was good as gold then the next year a different vet came and when I asked to not do it in his neck proceeded to....and got span around the yard a few times!! So this year the 'original' vet was out and he did in his chest again and he didn't even flinch. So pleased with him.

But it does knock him out for a week! Set my sights on the 3rd of March as our next comp. Haven't been out since the 13th of Jan so likely to be terrified :D

Yikes chippers, what with one thing and another, I’ve not been out since early November! I think we both may have forgotten what we’re doing 😆

Oh god, November! That seems so long ago, hopefully you'll pick it all right back up. Decided to enter the 75cm class on the 3rd and be brave instead of chickening out and doing a 65cm :D new rule this year - no jumping below 70 at comps! (unless we have an incident and have to drop down..)

Good for you!

Because of the timing, the first time we go out I’ve now got an off-site sj lesson and then a xc clinic in one weekend. I suspect I’ll pull out of the xc as I don’t do 2 outings in the same weekend and I’ll be nervous of heading out to xc so ‘soon’. Buts it’s a gentle Wobbleberry session so I should really suck it up as we’ve carried on training at home so it’s not like he’s not been in work or anything.

had a brilliant lesson late on Tuesday and then horses have been off since as i have been away for work (Booooo!) so the weekend will be mainly reminding Salty that she is a working horse, honest  she hasn't done anything since Monday

They both have the physio this afternoon, then hopefully make a start playing about with clicker training for S which will probably make Kira wild with jealousy ;)

On Tuesday I'm having a lesson with Hayley Watson-Greaves :)

Hope you get out soon Chippers and Bernster. I think a fairly extended break is often really helpful. Things seem to have soaked in during a break and we can start back pretty much where we left off.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend.
I am back in the saddle after my virus, although I’m nowhere near back to normal- still struggling with eating, feel absolutely beyond exhausted and have lost too much weight (I’ve not been this skinny for 10 years!) but I’m trying to crack on. Was meant to be back on board P this week, but that’s gone on hold until I’m feeling more human, so will just be working Millie.

I like your positive attitude AE. Whereas in reality I will be bricking it the first time we get to a comp or clinic! But I’m loving our flatwork lessons at home so it’ll interesting to see if that translates to a better dressage performance.

I'm nursing a bruised back and ego after being ditched out hacking onto concrete - emergency drs appointment and x-rays yesterday prove there's nothing seriously wrong i'm just badly bruised! Although no visible war wounds which is a shame :p instructor is riding him tonight so he's done something, i'll lunge tomorrow then Sunday is D-day and the beast goes on his holidays.

8 weeks of freedom for me and probably some lunge lessons as if I've come off twice in a week in exactly the same way there's probably something to be addressed.

Good luck to all out and about and doing things! I'll be living vicariously though you all :p

That sounds really interesting love to know more about that.

Cassie & Cam - that should be fabulous, we had music done by Gaynor last year.

Milliepops - look forward to hearing all about your lesson.

We have a showing show on Saturday and then RC team dressage on Sunday. First ventures out after a little holiday.

Been a busy week here.
Went out to Crofton Manor for BD on Wednesday. Bit of a weird day as it all felt rather 'blah' and my mind kept going blank mid test. The novice wasn't great (our scores have really dropped at this level this year) bit we somehow managed to get our best ever elementary score. 2_Crofton_ElementaryS_Test432006_190220~2.jpg
Then yesterday we had saddle fitter as I felt his dressage saddle had gotten too narrow. I was right, he has now gone up another width. So now have a new dressage saddle! I think that's why we haven't done so well recently as he hasn't been able to step under properly and push from behind.
Today we are hacking
Saturday I have an SJ lesson and then Sunday I am going to put it into practice and go out to a local unaffiliated sj. Will be our second attempt at doing an 80cm. Really starting to enjoy my jumping so hopefully all goes well.

Good luck to everyone competing and hopefully we will all see some sunshine.

As @Bernster said, love the positive attitude! I will try and look at it that way, I have only jumped once since the 13th of Jan so half of me is itching to get out but half of me is the terrified half. Determined not to be terrified this year though.

I am so jealous of anyone going to the Ingrid masterclass I can't explain! I love her.
Also envying MP and your lesson with HWG.
Good luck to anyone competing. Anyone hacking/schooling at home enjoy and anybody socialising, have fun and don't miss your horses too much!

Tomorrow Chilli and I head out for our first ever affiliated dressage. Only a prelim, and only one test as to do two tests would be nigh on £50 and I just can't afford that at the mo. She has a smart new white sheepskin girth cover to match her half pad and I have a new jacket so hopefully, if nothing else, we will look the part!:D

She is out in the field in a very thin neck-less sheet today as it's such lovely weather so I'm thinking a bath will be required this afternoon.

I am off for a lesson tomorrow. It's our third with our fab new instructor. I'm loving my lessons and feeling like I'm finally starting to make progress.

Having said that we had a hideous time at Quest last Saturday and I ended up having a little weep in the back of the lorry. Rory is going brilliantly at home but our tests were both awful and I was so frustrated. He was a devil pony which resulted in me "over riding" him and fighting the whole way round the first test. Our second test was a bit better but my scores still aren't improving and I was disappointed that my collectives were identical on the second test.

Never mind. It just made me more determined. Taking a friend to lesson tomorrow to video it which should be useful and gave plenty of feedback from last weekend to work on.

Don't be disheartened, I am exactly the same. My tests are usually disappointing too and it's frustrating as I know how much better Rose can go and generally I can't blame Rose, I just don't ride as well but i am sure I will get better the more I get out and compete. If I can get the warm up right she goes well but if I don't we go badly!
