Weekend plans

Rather envious of everyone's exciting plans as Rose is stlll away, however, I am feeling a lot better and am intendng to get her home on Monday. I've got a ticket for Hartpury HTs on Saturday so hoping the weather isn't too vile BUT the really exciting news is that I got my DTM music through from Equidance this afternoon and I just love it (lots wont) it is very different (English folk) and suits her really well. can't wait to ride her to it.
Good luck to everyone competing I hope the weather doesn't spoil the weekend for you.

I fell off today 🙈 I had a jump lesson and we had a really simple course, including a jump diagonally on the centre line from F. I had taken a bit of a wonky line the time before so my instructor told me to get to F before turning. I did that but then turned too sharply, couldn't get straight and gave my horse no choice but to duck out to the right. This is a horse who never stops or runs out, but it was a big fence with fillers and we were a mess so I think he was just looking after himself. I leant right because of the wing in front of my face, got tipped forwards, stayed on, but then he jumped anyway, despite no longer being in front of the jump, and off I flew. I landed flat on my back and whacked my head, but no damage done. I got back on and he jumped the course beautifully.

First fall off the big lad completed! 😂

Always good to get the first one out of the way:p

I’ve not been riding much lately but had a lesson today and it seems we haven’t forgotten all we’ve been taught! Phew.

Planning on doing gaddesdon park and ride on Sunday. Ground may be too hard to do much but it’ll be nice to get out for a leg stretch and catch up with some friends.

Glad you're feeling better, you must be so happy to be getting rose back.

How does the equidance thing work? Did you go to a clinic or is it done via video? And how long did it all take?

Thanks, it's rather odd not having Rose here but it's given me time to get on with other things.
Working with Equidance has been easy and straightforward. If you look on their webiste there's info but basically Steff eardley designed the floorplan for me having discussed Rose and my strengths and weaknesses. I got my trainer to ride through it when it was videoed as I wanted it mistake free and for the paces to be as good as possible as i shall use the music for schooling purposes. I sent the vid to tony Hobden via WeTransfer. I spoke to Tony about the sort of music I wanted (English folk) and he sent me a number of tracks to consider for each pace. Once I had chosen he put the music together using the vid, enhancing the music where necessary to emphasis med trot and canter for example and changing the rythmn a bit so it matched Rose's footfall. It was very easy even for me who is a bit techno challenged! I've had music done before for Mr B but this is by far the best.

I went to a clinic with them that my RC put on.
I also had a floorplan designed by Stef which she sent over a few days before the clinic, so I ran through it and was able to tell her the bits that we needed to tweak :p
At the clinic we rode the whole thing, Tony videoed and then I sat with Tony picking some music. I didn't actually have any idea what would suit so he made some suggestions which were perfect. A few days later he sent me a video with the music added, which I approved and then he sent the CDs. Very easy slick process, I also had music done by another company in the past but this was loads better.
I have since changed my floorplan so it's not quite as good to the music but I would def get it done by them again.

After last weekend's partially successful event (leading after lovely dressage and amazing show jumping, only to w/d before XC due to slight swelling in leg) Touch is off with a tweaked check ligament...
So I'll be heading down to Dublin horse show with my friend first thing on Sat and staying until Sun for some socialising and shopping and general holiday type behaviour.
Fingers crossed the weather improves, its pouring and blowing a gale here this morning.

Good luck everyone and have fun and stay dry!!!

Fingers crossed 6 weeks ish according to the vet - takes us past the end of the season though :-( But much better than if he had gone on and torn it. Another scan on Weds in case he's made a miraculous recovery... He's frustratingly completely sound and fit as a flea and raring to go!!

Well my weekend looks positively boring. I will be getting back on Cudo after his recovery time, and doing flat work or hacking on level ground. Aside from that the garden alongside the front door walkway looks like it will be getting some long overdue attention thanks to feeling a plant reaching out for my ankle as I walked by yesterday. It'll be a bit of work but I think I can beat it back into submission.

Good luck and great rides to all.

How is Cudo doing?

He's doing well just existing around the barn. Ha ha ha. He's enjoying the daytime in the stall with his fan on, and nighttime outside in the cool air with his best friend "Beau" my last remaining Tb in the barn. Those two are heavily bonded and great friends.

So he's doing as well as he can and his scrapes are healing. Only one still has a scab, the others have started re-growing their hair.

Blue currently has one sound leg, so it's going to be a very quiet weekend.

Bute trial confirmed there was something wonky going on her with her hind legs, so she was meant to be going into horsepital for further investigations this week.

Of course, she came hobbling in on Monday with heat in her off fore fetlock. Box rest and cold hosing this week has got her close to sound (I'm maybe being paranoid in still seeing it) but there's no point in her going to get her back legs investigated while the front is still possibly a bit off.

So we're now probably looking at the end of next week, or even the week after that, to try to find out what the issue is with her hinds. Bloody horses!

I'm glad he's better. I hadn't seen your original post about what happened, I saw a later update that mentioned a rotational fall. It must have been very scary. Glad things have improved. Where in America are you? The landscape looks very similar to Ireland.
